Do you want to look clean and hygienic? Well now you can, if you put the effort in and make sure you are always neat and tidy.

edit Steps

  1. 1
Wash your hair every couple of days with a good quality shampoo and always follow with conditioner. Washing your hair more often than that can cause the scalp's sebaceous glands to produce more oil to make up for the frequent loss, making your hair look greasy. Using too many products, or low quality ones, will also result in excessive oil production. For the same and similar reasons, use only products which match your hair type.

  2. 2
Use as little make up as possible and take care to remove it at night, or after the event, with a good quality skin cleaner, followed with a toner and a water-based moisturizer. Remove blemishes by applying tea tree oil to them before going to bed, rather than by popping them, which results in scarring.
  3. 3
Brush your teeth twice a day with toothpaste, and floss afterwords. Be sure to brush your tongue as well as your teeth. Electric toothbrushes clean much more effectively than manual ones, resulting in a brighter smile and fresher breath. Eating mints throughout the day may add a minty scent to your breath, but will do little to cover up the odor of an uncleaned mouth. Chewing sugarless gum has been shown to prevent tooth decay.
  4. 4
Keep lips soft and smooth by rubbing them with a damp flannel and then applying lip balm.
  5. 5
Trim and clean your nails regularly. Regularly carry a nail care kit to remove dirt and rough edges as they occur. (A simple kit should include: a nail brush for dirt removal, an emery board to file away uneven or broken edges, and moisturizer.)
  6. 6
Shower on a daily basisand possibly twice on hot summer days, using a gentle soap or shower scrub. Use of scented shower gels is favorable as long as you will not be in a crowded social situation where the scent will mix with those of many others to produce a generally unpleasant odor. Immediately after showering, generously apply lotion to your skin to lock in moisture. Wear sunscreen and deodorant everyday. Keep your armpits and legs shaved.
  7. 7
Wear clean, well fitting clothes. Clothes that are too tight or too loose are not flattering and are simply uncomfortable. Clean, iron and repair your clothes as needed to avoid dingy looking tears, creases and stains. Likewise, clean and repair your shoes and jewelry.
