Unpacking
- 1Before assembling your pool, make sure all supplies were included with your set. If not, you will probably not be able to set up your pool. Call the store where purchased or Intex to order replacement parts.
Setting up the Pool
- 1Find an area in your yard or on your porch or patio that has even ground. A pool that is placed on uneven ground will have uneven water and may sag to one side, causing overflow, unattractiveness, and possibly discomfort while in the pool. Also, make sure the area is big enough for the pool. Before setting anything on the ground, clear the area of any rocks, sticks, twigs, or sharp objects that could puncture the pool.
- 2Unfold and lay out the pool. Before setting the pool on the ground, it is a good idea to lay down a tarp on the ground below where the pool will sit so the bottom of the pool does not get punctured with rocks, sticks, twigs, or sharp objects. Make sure that the blue inflatable ring is the innermost. It is best to inflate the ring using an air pump. You can purchase one of these from Intex, or most toy stores or bicycle dealers have these also.
Filling the Pool
- 1Using a garden hose is best to fill pools. If you have a nozzle attachment attached to your hose, it is best to remove that. Water will flow easier from the hose with no nozzle attachments or such.
- 2Fill the pool about one inch. Make sure the water spreads evenly while filling the pool. If not, you may need to move the pool to a different area. After you have filled the pool approximately an inch, stand back, away from the pool to make sure the ground still looks even. If the ground looks uneven, it is best to drain the pool and move to a new location.
- 3Continue filling the pool. Every hour or so while filling the pool, stretch out any wrinkles that may be inside the pool. The pool will rise as the water fills up. The water will support the pool walls.
Maintaining the Pool and Filter
- 1Refer to your package's instructions for filter or pump instructions. Also, if you received a saltwater set, please refer to your set's instructions as to how much salt to put into your water.
- 2Maintaining the pool every day may be necessary. Think about purchasing a cover for your pool to help keep debris out, and only use the filter as necessary.
Edit Tips
- This article explains how to set up an Intex Easy Set Pool. If you purchased a different brand or type of pool, the setup method may vary. Please refer to the written instructions/DVD included with your pool package.
EditWarnings
- Did you know that over 250 children under 5 years of age drown every year? Make sure your pool or property is completely surrounded by fencing that cannot be climbed over and has a self-closing and self-latching gate. This is an easy step that shouldn't cost much and that could easily prevent a tragedy in your home.
