How to Use the Preloaded Esobi Software on an Acer Computer

Users of Acer computers may notice there is a fish icon named "eSobi" on their desktop. Why not take advantage of this free program that comes with your pricey new computer? Just follow the steps below to start making it your personal news reader.

    Double Click on the "eSobi" icon on your (Acer computer) desktop to open the program. You can select your preferred language when you first use it. Registration is optional.

    Check "Channel Subsciption" to see if the default channels of your region are listed there.

    If not, go into the File menu->Import RSS Channel(OPML)->Default Channel.

    Choose the default channels in your language to add them to your "Channel Subsciption" list.

    Go to your favorite websites to get additional RSS feeds. A website with RSS feeds should display a red orange RSS icon. Click it and when you see a page like http://www.wikiHow.com/feed.rss, copy the feed URL link of that page :

    Go back to eSobi and click "New Channel" to subscribe to that feed (Manually paste the RSS feed link if it is not there).

    Repeat these steps above to add as many RSS feeds as you want.

    Add a keyword to "Channel Watch" to monitor specific news articles containing the keyword specified. Repeat this step to track as many topics as you want.

    Save articles you are interested in by clicking on the "Save" button above the HTML browser into eSobi Library.

  • Choose text-only view mode to read news articles without annoying advertisement.

  • Having too many RSS feeds may slow down the program and result in overwhelming information received. Delete feeds once in a while for a better reading experience.
