Hats and caps are nice, but you don't want them out collecting dust and cluttering up your house. Therefore, we'll go over ways to get those hats organized, while saving space, in a very stylish way.

edit Steps

  1. 1
Use a hat box. The best way to keep your hats clean and in one place is in a (large) size hat box; a good size hat box can hold several hats, as well as a few of your favorite caps...if you organized it just right. You can find great buys on hat boxes at your local (Family Dollar Store); they'are normaly priced at an affordable price, such as four or five dollars...they come in some very stylish designs...some have like an antique appeal to them. Set the hat box on your dresser, it is stylish enough.
  2. 2
Put a small (two shelf) bookcase in your closet. This will actually give you three shelves counting the top; thus line your caps up in a roll (you can stack the caps) and turn them side ways, allowing you more room, if needed. The bookcase idea works great, for anyone that may live in an older house without a lot of shelf space, if any at all.
  3. 3
Consider having a coat and hat rake in your home. Not only is it a great place to hang your coats and sweaters during the winter, but is a great place to keep your favorite hats or caps handy...right along side those scarfs to keep your neck warm, or ear muffs for those very cold days.
  4. 4
Store hats in clear plastic bags if wished. This is especially helpful for those that you may want to store permanently, for you no longer wear them. Put them on a shelf in top of your closet that is if you have a shelf there.

edit Tips

  • Naturally, the hat box that certain hats may have come in is another way of keeping them dust free, they can be kept in the original box and slid up under the bed, if more space is needed in the home.
