14. With the Move Tool position the KNOT over the grain loop on the right. You will have to play with the Knot till it looks right. 15. Change the KNOT layer (Layer 2 copy 2) to Opacity of 70.

Open a new file by clicking on File>Open. Click on Set foreground color. Choose brown color or a shade of wood color with Eye dropper Tool. Click on OK. Select Paint Bucket Tool. Click on your canvas. It will fill the background with brown color.
Duplicate the layer. Remove all the layer styles. Enable subtract from shape area at the top bar. Create some rounded rectangle as shown.
3.1 Now a rectangular selection with small squares is made around the word Engraving. a) "Click and Hold" the square above the "g" and drag it until the top line b) of the rectangle is parrell with the top of the wooden sign. c) Do the same with the square under the "g" until it matches the bottom d) of sign. Do the same with wood layer 2 as you did with wood layer 1 in step 3. Set the blending mode to overlay and lower the opacity.

Now, it looks a little like wood grain, but we can still do better. Go to Filter> Noise> Add Noise.. In the Add Noise Window, select the �Uniform� option, and select the �Monochromatic� option. Adjust the Noise amount to something like 15%. Hit OK. Next, go to Filter> Blur> Motion Blur.. In the Motion Blur Window adjust the Angle to 90 degrees, and set the Distance to somewhere around 22 pixels. Hit OK. Lastly, to bring our the grain a little more, we'll add a Sharpen Filter. Go to Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen. You're Done!....but don't forget to save. File>Save As�
Create a new layer, and fill the layer with white(#FFFFFF). Now add a noise filter with settings �Amount: 80%, Distribution: Uniform and Monochromatic checked.� Then set the layers blending mode to ‘Overlay’ and set the opacity to 10%. You can make it more or less depending on what you want. You can erase certain parts of the layer to make the wood more realistic and irregular. This is what my image looked like at this point.
Press F7 to get the layer panel . You can an layer present in the layer box . Rename it to "base wood" by right clicking it . Create another layer (fifth button in the layer box) and name it as "line wood"
