6. In Image Ready, go to Window Animation. In the first frame, you need to have the original photo. You do that by setting the layer copies invisible(in the layer pallete, click on the eye in front of each layer).

Again, duplicate the layer, reduce its size and apply gradient overlay as shown. It will be the screen of our tv icon.

Step 4: Now all we have to do is reduce the opacity of the scanline pattern layer and we will be done.

Start off by creating a new layer in photoshop. Select a rectangular shape with the rectangular marquee tool. Then fill the shape with light grey. I used 15% grey or RGB 218 218 218. This will serve as the base for your TV screen. Now rightclcik on the layer and choose blending options and use the following settings for Bevel and Inner Shadow.(images open in popups)

[6]-Now fill the selection with any color & then go to Blending Options, select Inner Shadow & use the following settings Photoshop Technique-How to use the Inner Shadow feature

the title should read "53 Tips for an old version of Photoshop for Windows" - a lot of these are redundant in CS3

Now close the 1x2 image we just created and open the image you want to apply the effect to (you can use the following one if you are just following this tutorial and have no real need).

Start off by creating a new Photoshop document with dimensions of 220 width by 180 height. Create a new layer set, from the layers panel, where you will create all the layers for this Photoshop tutorial. Make a rectangular selection on new layer, and then select the gradient tool. Set E8E8E9 for the foreground and C8C9CA for the background. Use the Reflected Gradient tool, dragging it the length and direction of the red arrow (image a). Next, make a black rectangle on a new layer, as shown in image b). Contract the selection (select > modify > contract) by 1 pixel, and then on another new layer create a 2nd reflected gradient. For this one, choose 7C7C7C for the foreground and set the gradient to be Foreground to Transparent, in the editor.

3. Now lets go ahead and put our TV which will house our portfolio content. You can either find a TV on your own, or you can use this one for this tutorial: HP TV. Once you have it move it onto your document and make sure its centered.

Now make a new document, transparent background, 12 pixels. Fill with black a pixel then go to Edit > Define pattern and call it whatever you want.

Let's try to add the scan effect to it. This can be done in two ways

Using the upper menu, select Edit > Fill. Under "Use" select "Pattern"

1. The first thing we want to do is create a new document with the dimensions of 1024768.

Next create a CSS file through Dreamweaver name it style.css you can either place in the same folder as your html file is or you can make a separate folder I prefer a separate folder so I am saving my file in scripts folder.

Create a new layer above the screen layer. Take the Elliptical Marquee Tool and make a selection from the top right corner to the bottom left of the screen and fill it with white, set the opacity to 44%

Step 1 Create a rounded rectangle (under the Shapes tool-category) with a radius of around 4px and dark gray (#282828). The radius is a measure of how rounded the corners will be. Rasterize this layer (Right Click >> Rasterize Layer) so that you can edit it more easily. Rasterizing is going to be a pretty important part of this tutorial so keep that in mind.
