6. Making Seamless tiles. We need to make this texture tile seamlessly as described in Seamless tiles tutorial. Use the offset by clicking Filter=>other=>offset. Set at 100 horizontal 100 vertical. wrap around. Then follow the tutorial, using the clone tool on the areas you need to merge, and a soft brush of 45 pixels.

After I wrote my four part series on textures, I received a few questions of how to tile them. This tutorial will walk you through how I would go about it. This is a very common task and is extremely useful if you have a texture or pattern that you need to repeat across an image or a website. Using the offset filter and a little brushing up makes this task a breeze.

Now uncheck the visibility checkbox on the background layer found in the layers pallet. Now go to the main menu and select "Layers" then "Merge Visible." Next go to "Image" then lastly "Crop." To save your newly created pattern go to "Edit" then "Define Pattern." Give it a name and click "OK."
