For this tutorial, I used a stock photo from http://www.sxc.hu. The tower, the sky and the crows of this photo already give a kind of surreal feel to it.

2. Start with creating the "Photo-frame" by drawing a selection with the Polygonal Lasso Tool (L). Save the selection as "frame"

Photoshop offers several different methods to cut out a selection of a photo or other image. In this tutorial, I'm going to cover the five I use the most.

25 Next, create a selection around the duplicated 3D text object face layer by Ctrl + clicking on that layer's thumbnail in the Layer Panel.

This is how it works:

In this tutorial, we will show you a simple technique to add realistic lightning to a photo in Photoshop. Step 1. Open a suitable photo in Photoshop, e.g. one with a dark cloudy background. Press Ctrl-A to select the entire photo, press Ctrl-N to open a new image. Press Enter and press Ctrl-V to paste the photo. Rename the Layer to Main Photo by double clicking the Layer.
