In this tutorial we're going to learn, step-by-step, how to draw Bender from Futurama in Photoshop. Bender is possibly one of the best cartoon characters of all time, and since Futurama is coming back in 2008, we though it would be a great time to learn how to draw this king of robots.

Open up a photo of a random person. I chose the beautiful Kate Beckinsale that I picked after seeing the (super) movie Click...

In this video tutorial, we will take a look at various techniques used in photoshop to digitally paint cartoon characters. This method, also known as cel shading, can be used for drawings of anime characters, cartoons, and comic book characters. By the end of this tutorial you should know how to color/cel shade in your drawings professionally and nicely.

Although it may seem a simple subject, I can understand how a beginner to the program might not be completely familiar with the limitations of a Photoshop "Background" layer. So the following information deals with using scanned drawings in Photoshop, that folks would like to apply 'paint' to. Before doing this however, there are a few simple things you would do to prepare your drawing image for the painting procedure.

Draw a stright line on the left side of the bag (use a medium gray, #666666). Hold down Alt while drawing to get a stright line. Now we want to tranform the line. Go to Edit > Free Transform and move the handle in the middle to the left about 50% - 60%.

Place the image in the document and extract the head from the background. Put it behind the curtain like the image below, then duplicate the layer and change the Blend Mode to Multiply. Exactly as we did for the hands that will increase the details of the head.

I think the design could do with some more floral elements or something like that, so I recommend you search the web and try a heap of different things.

It's a really nice technique and I really love it. I also love it that's it's so easy to make. It can be used for retro-fying your artwork or with a soft blur actually making it look realistic! There are 2 ways of making this Suave-Sunburst and both are really easy, one of them is a standard shape and the other requires a little more clicking, but in the end looks better most of the time.

This tutorial is a simple Photoshop tutorial for adding stylish rectangles in a sig or other artwork To give a touch up to it. It's very simple and in my opinion it has a great effect sometimes! You should try it, I show you how! Good luck!

1. Create a new document (225*225). We're going to design a login form for a website. You may use this as a login splash page or an email subscribe form or whatever

Nope, were not going to leave it there either, create a new layer and call this one 'bar' or something along those lines. Now make a selection, this one must be inside of each of the sets of strips, like the example.

Now, create new layer, and with hard black brush, draw the silhouette of an object - for me, it was a cat. Do not be very careful drawing straight lines - in fact, we are going to make them quite rough! Then, use Magic Wand tool (W key) to select the layer content.

We have added a back ground, it should come out liek the spikes we saw in version one of stealth designz.

In this tutorial, you will learn to design a shopping bag. The design can be used in various design projects like in logos, icons and many more :) Final output of the tutorial can be seen below :

The demonstrated instrument will be helpful in drawing another picture, but the sizes should be kept according to those from the picture.

11. I used the rounded shapes method just like we did in Step 2 to smooth the straight edges. Then, I changed the color to blue. To give it some depth, I created a new layer and loaded the shape of the handle as a selection by Ctrl+clicking (Command+clicking) its layer. Then, using the Gradient Tool, I filled the selection in with the default colors. Finally, I set the layer's Blending Mode to 'Overlay' and that's your basic screwdriver.

And that is you complete Screw head. If you are using in a design you may need to add a drop shadow to make it fit in correctly.

Combine in a group all the layers composing the RSS symbol (press Ctrl button to accentuate the corresponding layers and then keep pressed the left mouse's button while moving the marked layers on Create a new group option).

02. Fill the path or shape with the color of your bow, and apply an 'Inner Glow' with Normal Blend Mode, a darker color than your bow (in this case, #C30000), and Size 6.

Now you could also choose to make the moss have more relief, but that is done different. Go to Filter>Render>Lightning Effects and set the bottom menu to green. You also need to fiddle around with the thumbnail and the angle of the lightning... But that is different in every image. Only do this step if you want the relief. I for one, did not use it, therefore it's up to you if you use it!

2. Now select your burn tool with 2 px width, range: highlights and exposure 100%. On the layer of your image, make a crack line.

Open up the psd file I provided and type in the text you want to use to bling out. Obviously I choose my own name. Make sure you have a respectable font size, I recommend around 72 or bigger for better results and quality.

To start, make sure you have the image that you plan on adding the RCA Plugs to. Now grab the "Eclipse Tool" and while holding in the "Shift" key on your keyboard draw a black circle.

This is another version of the graphic. To do that simply remove the blending options from the last two stars and change the text accordingly :

Click anywhere in the document to create the selection. Position the selection where you want it to be. Fill the selection with black. Grab the Custom Shape Tool and select the radioactive shape, size: size of black circle, see figure below for more details.

Now it's put everything together and do the final touches, like some light effects for example. The process is quite simple, it's all about repetition and color adjustments. However the idea is the most important thing, and in this case it came from a dream, a psychedelic dream to be even better.

Time to get a circle for Olympic Games logo. Start by making a selection with Elliptical Marquee Tool and fill in with the color of #0184c9 like on a picture below:

Post-its. My favorite way of scheduling. It's the most famous product used for notes because of it's re-adherable strip of adhesive on the back.

Scale the "postit" layer to fit your needs. Tip: Press Shift+Alt while you drag a corner handle to maintain proportions and the keep the postit on the center of the canvas. Dont' apply changes yet.

Almost everyone has seen "Pimp My Ride", the MTV reality show that takes ruined cars and their owners to the "West Coast Customs" shop for a makeover that includes everything from wiring and suspension to wheels, paint, and interiors. Wildly popular, the show comes highly recommended by car enthusiasts and reality show lovers alike. Here's how you can join the fun by recreating the show's logo.

If you wish to use this style again (to save you re-entering all the styles if you wish to do more pills, click:

12. You now have a basic lightsaber. I did a little more work, basically using the techniques from the above steps to add some more stuff to my handle. Here is my final saber.

We can now open our second image and choose Select > All this puts the 'marching ants' around your entire image. Now copy this image by going to Edit > Copy, once we have done this we can close the second image leaving just our main image open. If you go to Edit > Paste Into our second image appears in the area we have selected with the lasso. It may not be quite the right position but we can now adjust this by going to Edit > Free Transform or try using the short cut Ctrl T this will put an eight handled frame around the image - you can then use the handles and move the second image into position. Once you are satisfied with the positioning of your second image, double click inside the frame or hit the enter key to apply the changes.

Now that you have your circle cut, you can now right click on the rim layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".

Hi, I am here today to explain a very commonly used technique in Photoshop, old, but very nice technique, for creating out of bound's images. Basically we are going to take an image and make it look like it's coming from the picture out. It's an very easy tutorial and there is nothing to be afraid of. All it need's is to know how to work with layer mask's and the transform tool (move tool).

On its site, .Nu Domains notes that it will register new domains for names that do not violate trademark law in the registrant?s jurisdiction. Any disputes must be resolved through the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

This is the basic template we are going to use for all of our polygons. Go File || Save As... and save the PSD file as it is.

Now we need to finish this tutorial off by adding text to the background. Start by getting out the Horizontal Type Tool then write out your text like 'THE X FILES' and 'I WANT TO BELIEVE':

To start, make sure you have the image that you plan on adding the Jogger to. Now grab the "Eclipse Tool" and while holding in the "Shift" key on your keyboard draw a black circle.

This tutorial is about Missing Piece wallpaper. The most important thing you need for good wallpaper is the idea ;-) So I came up with pencil sketch, which I then scanned and opened in Photoshop.

In adding color, select the mini comets that you made by holding the CTRL key + the comets layer. Then choose Select > Feather > 3 pixels .

You can play with the details or the background elements like me, or better, and the results can be very realistic; now you have a microphone created using just Abode Photoshop CS 2:

And last step - change blend mode of layer with Medusa to Overlay, and blend mode of layer with blurred medusa to Soft Light. That's all! :-)

Now grab the "Eliptical Marquee Tool" and make a selection. Go to the main menu and choose "Edit" then "Stroke" and select White as the color at 1 pixel and "Centered". Turn the "Fill" down to 6% and deselect the selection.

Create again a new layer (Create new layer) and insert the pointers near the links, choosing the same tool we've applied for drawing the same elements of the menu's buttons. The color in this case is white.

As we create our sparks, we are going to be creating "paths" with our pen tool, and then have our brush follow along these paths. Select your pen tool from the tool bar now.

Once the primary sketches are made I export all outlines into Adobe Illustrator CS. I put that outlines into one layer and then I draw vector outlines over primary sketch into a new layer. For that step I am using pen tool and for making outlines a little smoother I use pencil tool as well. I must add that trough all of this steps that I will write here in this tutorial the new ideas are showing. So here in this step I add the new style of eye and some other details on the body of that creature.

Go to brightness/contrast and lighten up the image a bit. I keep mine on +10 brightness and +10 contrast and repeat this if necessary. Merge all layers. Resize down to say 1024x768 (wallpaper size) and add a simple black border to accentuate the black inner eye. And don't forget to sign your work.

Create a new layer and grab Brush Tool with same brush. Make a new "spruce-festoon". Go to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast and make the new spruce very dark. Set Brightness to a large negative number. Go to Edit > Free Transforms (ctrl + t) and look at the Options Bar. Try to find "H" which is the height in percent. Set it to 5-15% and hit the accept-ikon in right side of Options Bar.

Step 5: Now rasterize the layer and make a selection with the Rectangular Marquee Tool such that it in dividing the shape into half like this

The Post-it? note has become part of our everyday lives. It?s simply amazing how commonly we see these little pieces of paper with their strips of sticky stuff. Not to mention the dozens of spin-off products. You can even find their electronic counterparts in many computer programs. We can make out own sticky notes to include in various projects and artwork. Let?s start with a new layer (we don?t want to work on a Background layer for this project). Make a square selection and fill it with the note color. Add some text or other visual content, using an appropriate font and color. (This particular font is called Kidprint.) Wait! let?s make this an IMPORTANT note! We?ll make a copy of the type layer and hide it, just in case we need to go back later and correct spelling or change a word. We can also add some doodles on a separate layer. To put all of the note?s content on the same layer as the note itself, we?ll hide the non-note background layer and use the Layers Palette menu command Merge Visible. (This can also be done by arranging the layers in an appropriate order and using the command Merge Down or by linking the layers and using the command Merge Linked.) To get some body in the note, to give it a 3D look, we can use the filter Distort> Shear. (This is the reason we don?t want to work on a background layer?it?s easier to work with Shear when your subject is surrounded by transparency.) Click to add an anchor point, then drag to bend the ?paper.? In this case, I?ve added a couple of anchor points near the top to keep that area straight. Remember that a Post-it note?s top section will be flat against the surface upon which it is stuck. Now we?ll want to add a shadow behind the note. One simple technique is to select the Paintbrush, set it to an appropriate color and opacity, and use the blending mode Behind. With Behind selected, the paintbrush will add the shadow only where transparency appears on the target layer. This blending mode doesn?t allow the tool to paint over the layer?s existing artwork. (Remember that the top strip of the note lies flat against a surface, so it will have no shadow in that area.) Voila! Ready to hang on the wall of our digital cubicle:

17. Paste a nice picture of your choice below the loupe. Chose a point to zoom on and turn your loupe around.

Draw a round shape for Danny's head, a triangle for his body, and stripes for his arms and "tail". Finally some blocks as hands;

5. The concepts of Yin and Yang describe two primal opposing but complementary forces found in all things in the universe. To differentiate that I use two color one is #ff6f04 and Black. Create a new layer fill with #ff6f04 color on the right hand of the selection then press Shift + Ctrl + I, fill the other part of the symbol with Black (Here I use Brush tool convenient). Press Ctrl + D to deselect.

Make a new document. Fill it with black. Select the Custom Shape Tool. Find the Rounded Rectangle Tool (). Drag out how big you want the LCD screen to be, and then Right Click>Make Selection.

Now change the foreground color to 00FFF6 and click on the "Text Tool" and change the font to "LCD2" at a size of 30...Light. Now type in a series of 8's, and lower the opacity to 10. For the smaller text I used "Verdana" at 10...Italic. Type your text and turn the opacity down this time to 30.

8. Select Ellipse tool and draw a circle at left side of joypad, apply these effects: Drop Shadow: Default setting Bevel and Emboss: Depth = 100, Highlight Mode = 77% and Shadow Mode = 33%

1. Open up Photoshop, and pick your Paint Bucket Tool (G). Change from foreground to Pattern and pick your Horizontal Warning Stripes. If you do not have this pattern, you can download it here

So lets begin by creating the surrounding of the iTouch, we will call it our base. Grab your Round Shape Rectangle, set the the radius to 20 and create the base. The color i used is #4a4f53.

2. Next, take any textile texture and place it atop the background. In our case the texture was the one shown below:

Ok, now let's start with compact disc! Create a new layer, make selection using the Elliptical Marquee Tool and fill it with the color of #babfc:

It's time to draw the beetle's jaws, applying the Pen Tool (P). For their correction we'll use the Convert Point Tool. Place this layer lower than the layer containing the beetle's head (on the layers' palette). The layer's color is #D4D4D4

4. Only a little bit left to do; put a small blob of pure white near the top of the gem as shown, blur it with the blur tool set to a very low strength, and tweak the opacity so it doesnt look quite so solid. Lens flares are ideal for gems as a final touch, but dont overdo them. This one has had a background and very low opacity 1px stroke added to it.

14. To add a rear-view mirror, draw a shape as shown using Pen tool. Right-click > Make selection > apply the options as shown below.

Use the instrument and create two circles, the blue one should be under the black one. The colors are 00a8e6 and black. , create the body of the elf girl like in the picture. The color is eddac9.

We have finished representing the background and now we'll continue by drawing the safe itself. Select firstly the Ellipse Tool (U) and represent a circle like that one from below.

Since I am best known for my Photo realistic Photoshop techniques, I think its time for me to show you how to create something. We are going to create a realistic cobblestone path in Photoshop. Adapt these techniques and see what variations you can come up with on your own.

Now, simply change the blending option on that layer to overlay. Our colors have instantly become more enhanced, and have doubled in intensity!

Add the obligatory text "Du bist *name*" in the Georgia-font. I used font size 250 for the "Du" and 60 for the "bist Sven Jaschan"-part.

Now we can add some text. Select the Text tool and type any text you want under their feet. I decided to add " Hooks & Yoyo ".

Now perhaps a hard part. Do as I told you with the placement of the face. Give Link a round face with spiky hair and a long cap. Also finally finish the rupee.

While mine isn't Kirby, it is perhaps the most unique and funny character because it can eat enemies and change his appearance and powers to his "snack". Because Kirby has been the topic for many photomanipulation-topics, I will teach you how to create your own Kirby instead of using a licensed render.

Hoops and Yoyos are well-known characters. These funny creatures inhabit the www.hallmark.com website as greeting cards and cartoons. Today in my tutorial I'll tell you how to draw a pink cat called Hoops with the help of Photoshop. Because these are vector characters it would be better to choose a vector graphics editor for drawing it, but you can use Photoshop for this purpose as well.

Create a new document of whatever size you want, mine is 300x300 pixels. Let's start by creating a circle with the Elliptical Marquee Tool, this must be a perfect circle not an ellipse so press and hold the Shift key while you are drawing with the Elliptical Marquee Tool. With your foreground color set to #1291c0 and your background color set to #0d0958 create a new layer, select the Gradient Tool and from the Gradient picker select Foreground to Background gradient (it's the first in the list) and then select the radial gradient style. Start dragging from one corner to another. Your settings should be like you see in the image below:

This video shows in detail how to draw your own lightsaber in Adobe Photoshop CS2. It is a similar process on CS3 and older versions, and is very simple.

Go to edit>transform>flip horizontal and apply similar layer styles in it as we applied in the key (right click on the key layer>Copy layer style. Now, right click on the "S" type layer, select paste layer style)

OK, lets start drawing Eric Cartman. Create a new document in photoshop with size, Width: 465 and Height: 400 pixels with white background.

Everything you see in Hot Topic or Pac Sun these days features some combination of skulls, flourishes, splatters, and miscellaneous grunge effects. Why? Don't ask me, but I'm sure it's got something to do with the recent rise of popular screamo, metalcore, and hardcore bands into the mainstream. This aesthetic can look ultra lame if done badly, but hella cool if done right. I'll show you how it's done right.

Next we'll draw the rest of the menu's buttons with the same tool (Custom Shape Tool (U)). Firstly mark out the layer containing the recently made button, clicking in the same time on the right mouse's button to choose Copy Layer Style option. When drawing the rest of the buttons we'll need Paste Layer Style option (copy the layer's parameters).

Simply, Alt (Mac: Option) + click on the Layer Mask Thumbnail, select a hard edge brush with a foreground color of black and paint over areas outside the dandelion to complete the masking.

Here you have the top part of the camera when it's ready. I also placed an inset line. If you want to know how to make these just look at my Watch-tutorial

Take the pen tool and create a shape that will be the top of the ingot. After you finished drawing, right click on it and choose "make selection". Here is mine

Add a colorized hue layer and select a color you would like to work with this will adjust the gray tones to new monochromatic tones. You may also choose to create multiple hue layers and mask them in order to vary the colors. Once finished merge all these layers to the bottom one.

Create a new background with the dimensions 400x 500, 72dpi and paint it with the white color. Then a new one and using the instrument , we create the next picture:

Applying this instrument on a new layer create the next element colored in FF0000 like the next picture shows it clearly.

create a rectangular marquee selection, like below and fill it in with a color. You will need to resize your document to wider if you want to see the WHOLE blade.

5. Go to Select>Load Selection...>"seltut1". Create a new Layer above the Layer which has been merged, choose color #003333 to fill the selection, then change the Layer Blending into Color Dodge. Merge them if ok

Some airbrushing skill is needed now and if you have a drawing tablet then your in luck if not you'd have to use your blur tool or Gaussian blur until you get the look desired. Your going to add a bit of white to the top right corner of you display but its going to be very faint and the edges of it must not be visible at all.

Add your lines that go around the compass, to do this we create a circle from the custom shapes menu, then select the type tool and use type on a path. I've already written a tutorial about type text along a path check that out for more detail.

Draw a rectangle as illustrated below with a radius of 2 pixels and color ff9c00 again using the "Rounded Rectangle Tool". Name this layer "Clapboard".

Right click one of the checkers you just created and use the following blending options (right click layer > blending options):

The part where you are going to put the on and off button has two layer style; Inner shadow and color overlay. Remember that the underlying parts of the camera go beneath the overlaying parts.

First we have to create an atomic nucleus. Choose the Gradient Tool (Radial Gradient) and set "Lighten" of the blend mode and try to draw an atomic nucleus like in the pic.1.

This tutorial is going to teach you how to draw a Mircosoft's XBOX 360 console in photoshop using a reference image, simple techniques such as the gradient tools and the pen tool. You are expected to have some experience with both of these two tools to successfully apply and follow this tutorial. I am going to trace everything over this hi-resolution picture of the XBOX that I found. By the time you're done, your finished work will look something like this.

Eric Theodore Cartman, is a fictional character in the animated series South Park. He is one of the four central characters. Cartman is arguably the most well-known and recognizable characters of South Park.

Sometimes a border can really help to set an image off, and becomes part of the picture itself. Here our image of a mountain bike race would really benefit from a more dramatic border, and with the aid of Photoshop's tools we can make the rider step out of the image creating a much more dynamic effect.

Graphic design is actually the art and process of combining text and graphics to communicate an effective language in the design of logos, brochures, newsletters, posters and in fact, any type of visual communication. This is achieved by using the elements and principles of graphic design.

1. Open a new image, I used 350X550, and create a new layer. Again I used black as my background. Make your way over to the Polygonal lasso tool and make a shape just like the one shown in the pic below. Because you are on the polygonal tool, go, select / modify / smooth and set it to around five or ten. Now fill that selection in with whatever color you want, I used an orange. Cool, now we have the shape and color, so lets start detailing the organ thingy. Change to the Dodge tool, Brush = 10, and Range to highlights. begin lighting tille balls all the way down your organ, try and experiment, you can make this thing look many different ways depending on how you shade it. I showed you how the transformation is in the screenshot below.

Welcome to my first walkthrough tour: the Making of "Riven". A quick note/disclaimer: This is NOT a tutorial. It is a brief history detailing the chaotic process that goes into my work. After looking over this tour (hosted by my admittedly eclectic comments), you might understand why I haven't gotten a tutorial on making nebulae out yet (or even better, you might be able to ask more pointed questions that'll help me figure out how to write a tutorial that will be helpful!). If you've got

And because that is so hard I'll post my render to you here (might be found at the bottom of the tutorial)

To show you that it's not difficult at all, I wrote this "making of", explaining the basis process and techniques used for the textures on the cloths.

Now we have to introduce the necessary text (I used the X-Files font from dafont. ), using the Horizontal Type Tool (T).

6: While holding down the CTRL key, click on the layer that has the ticket on it and then press delete.

Step 1. In this tutorial we are going to learn how to make some ventilation wholes. So make a new document and a new layer. First set your background layer color to #8C824C then on the new layer with the colors set like in the image below grab the gradient marquee tool from foreground to background make a shape that you desire and go from top to bottom.

Vents have been used very often for making digital cars look more realistic, however many designers are now using them in interfaces and templates. Like all things that can be made in photoshop there are tons of ways to go about creating them. I am going to show you a method I sometimes use. But, I want you to keep in mind that you can use different methods and mix up the order of steps I give you. Hopefully after learning how to make vents my way you can create your own methods and your own style vents. So, lets do this!

I use widgets a lot. They are very useful, but at the same time is very hard to find the right design for your theme. I usually search a lot for one that has both the things I need and colors. Here is how to design a volume control widget in two classic colors, black and blue. You can choose other two colors

Label the little tabs now, mine go Tech News | Apple Feed | Tutorials. For Tech News, i used a darkish grey color (#454545) and for the two other yellow tabs i used cf6100. Also after you done labeling, apply the following effect to your text:

Last thing we have to do is to add a nice background over the ground. I found nice one on sxc.hu, and You can get it from here. Drag it to our document, place it under all layers, use Free Transform Tool (Ctrl+T), and resize it.

Ok. Now we're going to make the mouse buttons. To do this select the last ellipse which you drew. Use the Single Column Marquee Tool (you can find it in the Tools Tab) to delete the four lines in the ellipse center like here:

In this tutorial you will be able to create a wireless mouse in Adobe Photoshop. 1. Create a new document 300 x 300 with white background and black foreground. 2. Select the elliptical marquee tool and make a shape as shown below. Make sure that you save it as a layer and don't forget to fill its with the same color as mine. 3. Now go to Layer -> Layer style set these settings: 4. Now you should have something like mine. 5. Now we have to add the sides. Select the elliptical marquee tool, make selection, fill it. Then change the opacity to 16% for both layers. Now your mouse should look something like this: 6. Now we're going to add the buttons. Select the rectangular marquee tool, make selection with the height as small as you can and fill it. Then make another layer, make selection, place it to the middle fill it and change the opacity for all them to 10.

Now grab the "Brush Tool" again using 1A62BD as your foreground color with a brush at a size of 35 at 30% opacity and the blend mode set to "Color Dodge." Create a selection that fits snuggly around the ball of the ornament, create a new layer and begin to brush on both the right and left sides to give it depth.

Dragons have appeared in one some capacity in almost every culture worldwide. But the way they're perceived in folklore varies greatly from culture to culture. They often hold spiritual significance in religion and represent primal forces of nature. And also, they just look pretty darn cool. In this tutorial, we'll be taking parts of several different animals, and compositing them together to create our very own dragon.

Now choose the Horizontal Type Tool and set the font family to Arial, bold, 14 pt, crisp and #8D8D8D color shade. In a new text layer type "Wii" on the bottom end of the controller.

For this Mario Photoshop tutorial, we?re going to start off my creating Mario?s nose, so create a new layer.
