The most exciting thing is that you can easily create your own brush. Let's make a star brush for example. Create new image with transparent background (square for our star). Set foreground color to Black, switch to Shape tool (U), select Polygon tool on toolbar, open Polygon options, check Star checkbox, set Indent sides = around 90%, and sides = 4. I was working on a magazine this weekend and after scanning and cropping about 50 pictures I stumbled across something I never noticed before, if I doubled clicked inside an image with the crop tool selected it would apply the crop. So out of that revelation this weeks article was birthed. We all use the crop tool, but do you know its hidden power? Again, we need to load a Layer Style Set. Following the same procedure for doing so listed above, load the Text Effects Styleset into the palette. The style we are looking for is called, simply enough, 'Wood'. Apply that style to this layer.
