In this tutorial, you will learn how to replicate the moon in a night sky. We will start with a black canvas, and add a circle selection with the Elliptical Marquee tool:
Title: The Moon Corona Description: This tutorial helps you design what we call a moon corona. The moon corona is an ice crystal formed around the moon. Descriptions: A moon corona is the ring around the Moon that is caused by the refraction of Moonlight (which of course is reflected sunlight) from ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. The shape of the ice crystals results in a focusing of the light into a ring. In this tutorial, we will go through a method on designing a moon corona with Adobe Photoshop 7.0
3. Once you make the selection go to Edit and select Copy (Edit>Copy). Then open the photo you are working with and go to Edit and select Paste (Edite>Paste). If the moon looks too big in the new photo you will have to crop the moon photo on the left.

I was outside the other night as the sunlight was just about gone. The moon was out, but very low. It was really cool looking, so I started wondering if I could make something like that in Photoshop. draw out a circle with the elliptical marquee tool. to make a perfect circle hold both the shift and option key (alt on windows) and fill it with white. to do this press the D key to reset your colors and then press X to switch them. after doing this press option (alt for windows) and delete to fill in the circle with white. DO NOT GET RID OF THE SELECTION!!! if you do on accident, simply hold COMMAND+clicking on the icon to re-select it. dont panic. did that freak you out? oh well, at least i tried... :-(
