As a website layout and free template graphics?? designer you will need to know how to design website button for your project. Here is a simple yet very cool trick using photoshop.
2. Use your elliptical marquee tool? set to a fixed size of of 175 wide by 175 high. Click on your canvas. Grab the Center of this selection using the eliptical marquee and center it. Click the Add layer mask button on the bottom of the layers pallete.
Using the same brush, begin drawing your other lines to make a stained glass effect. Remember to connect all lines back to themselves because we will be using the magic wand later to recolor some of these sections. If you want to include straight lines, click where you want the line to start and then holding down the shift key, click where you want it to end.
We will duplicate the text in the same way, and rotate it the same. Then we want to rasterize the text, to make it an image: Right-Click the text layer we just rotated and mirrored and choose Rasterize Type. Then we can choose the eraser tool and select a soft brush that is around the same size as the text height. For example:
In this tutorial, we will look at creating a magnifying glass from scratch. You can use this guide for any underlying image or text, to make it look as though it has been magnified somewhat.
Recreating water effects in PhotoShop is probably one of the hardest, because water has so many attributes to it and can be extremely difficult to make it look good. In this tutorial, you will learn how to recreate the look of condensation on a cold glass.
Web 2.0 has brought us many things, not least the glossy, glass-looking graphics that are so very popular right now. This tutorial will show you how to recreate the popular Web 2.0 look of glossy glass; you will learn how to create glass balls.
We are going to create a very a cool looking but easy and simple glass orb design concept that webmasters can find useful in many different projects. Graphics designers can use it their logo and photoshop learners can learn new tricks.
As a material the term generally refers to glass that has been coloured by adding metallic salts during its manufacture. The coloured glass is crafted into stained glass windows in which small pieces of glass are arranged to form patterns or pictures, held together (traditionally) by strips of lead and supported by a rigid frame.
Learn how to create a suspenseful photo manipulation in Photoshop. You will learn how to create realistic distortions with the displace filter and apply photo effects to give it a cold look.
11. Now Double click on the Text Layer > click on Bevel and Emboss > click on Glass Contour > go to Countour Editor, and give Effect as you can see in the Image below.
Title: Lets create a new Glass Text Effect and more Description: In this photoshop tutorial I have used things like contour editor to give a new text effect.
This is actually helpful for me. At school I help out at a web company and I have to make t shirts for us for unofficial (a pre-saint patrick's day). I want to make a really cool shirt with glasses of beer or it but all of the glasses I have been finding online I don't like. This is perfect. And if I need to change it up a little I can too! I love it! It's fun! Thanks Katie
01.11.2007 Category: Photoshop These days glass buttons seem to be very popular. You can find glass buttons in Windows Vista and all around the Web. Other popular buttons are metallic and plastic buttons. All these buttons have one thing in common: They are all shiny. Some people call these kinds of buttons Web 2.0 buttons. Here I cover the creation of two different glass buttons in Adobe Photoshop CS3. Both glass buttons utilize the same principles. Once you have completed this tutorial you should be able to apply the same principles and create many different kind of glass buttons. In this tutorial I give you the exact measurements and values to make things easy but feel free to try other settings as well.
12. Let???s add a slice of lemon. Use this great tutorial from PSDTuts to create a slice of lemon, or create the circle and then cut it in half. Create the lemon slice in a separate document, then save a flat copy on a transparent background and drag it in your glass-of-water document. Place the lemon slice right under the Bubble folder in the Layers palette. Switch the opacity to 90% so it looks like it???s submerged.
A droplet* is a Photoshop application that allows Actions to be applied to your image. Usually the droplets are left on your desktop and you simply drag a jpg file onto the droplet icon while Photoshop is open. What are the differences between the droplet trial version of the effect and the actual purchased Action effect? The trial versions will scale the image to 900 pixels, so your images should be at least, or close to 900 pixels. Smaller images will be enlarged and may show blurring and image noise. Other than that, the resulting image will show you how the actual Action will make your images appear. Like any plugin or action from any company, images that are blurred, contain a lot of image noise or are very dark and extremely low in contrast, will yield poor results. Keep that in mind.
During the course of this Photoshop tutorial we're going through 9 major steps to create a glass ball. The main goal of this tutorial is that you get an idea how to approach this. It's not that important to remember all settings, but it's more important that you understand what's exactly happening.
Hi I think your post - a Time is Money hour glass in photoshop | PSD Guides - Design Tutorials and Inspirations? it?s really great. Hope some another good post to read on this blog in the future. Take care.
I'll tell about creating glassy effects in raster... Of course, will take Photoshop as a sample software. The principle of every glassy effect lies in lighting of an object. A sourse of light gives a highlighted area and shadowed area to almost everything in this world, especially when object's material is glass or plastic. I know sounds stupidly, but it's all the theory you should know :) All the following are the methods to bring this theory to your digital 2D creations. The basic principle of creating glassy effect in Photoshop lies in bright and dark gradients begin one out of another like on the following object scheme. Lesson 1 - The Simplest Glassy Effect
Now that we have all the materials we need to get started, and we have an idea of what the Glass Shelf Dock looks like, lets begin to create our own inside of Photoshop.
Step 9: Position them just right, link them or merge them together (or select the individual layers, depending on which Photoshop you???re using). We want the handle to connect to our magnifying glass a little smaller and at an angle. CTRL+T, scale it down slightly if it needs to be (be sure to hold shift while doing so or you???ll have a distored looking handle) and then rotate it to a slight angle, somewhere near to 45 degrees. Hit the Enter or Return key on your keyboard so your alterations take to it.
The tutorial will show you how to make a beautiful glass ob, which contain the world inside. Like a magic ob, you often see in fairy movies. You could use this technique on various kinds of purpose such as creating water drop.
There is a plenty of tutorials in the internet with the instructions how to draw simple glass ball. But if it's not enough. This Photoshop Tutorial will help you to draw high-detailed glass ball with many glares, tinges, highlights and shades.

Welcome to TutorialFeens.com! On this site, you will find various photoshop tutorials that you may find interst in. Whether you're new to photoshop, or an advanced user, you will find many tutorials here that will be helpful to you. Please feel free to look around, if you have any questions or comments, gladly send me an e-mail.
Start off by using the Marquee tool and select a rectangle about 250 px wide and 40px high. Then select the circular marquee tool, hold down Ctrl and select a circle area on the left hand side of your rectangle. Now go to Select >> Modify >> Smooth and type in 5px. Click OK. Go to Layer >> New Layer and call it "base". Now use the fill tool and fill in the selected area with a gradient of your choice. Im using a silverish gradient. Right click on your base layer and go to Blending Options. Give it the following options: Drop Shadow Distance: 0 Size: 10px Colour: Black Stroke Size: 1px Opacity: 50% Colour: Black On the circular part of your button use your text tool to put some sort of character or symbol. I am using a pointer. Set its colours to #AEAEAE. Now use the text tool and write your buttons label onto the rectangular part. Use the character panel to make changes to your font. Use the rectangle marquee tool and select half of your button (the top half). Then create a new layer and call it "cover". Fill this layer in with white. Ctrl + Click on the base layer. Go to Select >> Inverse and then press delete on your keyboard. Set the "cover" layer opacity to 25% And thats it your finished. Heres my final result:
Create a new layer (Layer 1). Press "D" to reset colours and then "X" to set the white colour to foreground. Choose the Linear Gradient Tool with "Foreground to Transparent" and fill the selection from top to bottom.
14. If you want to place your cracked glass, on a lighter background like mine above, just merge down all your layers together into Layer 1, set the Blending Mode for Layer to Difference, and change the colour of your background layer to the lighter colour.
Now we want to add a lens glare to the glass to give it a more realistic look. Goto Filter > Render > Lens Flare. Choose one of the options, whichever looks best. And we'll get a subtle glass effect:
Ok, time to put label to our items. I went to Google Images again and find proper pictures. I prefer to use this one for covering bottle and the second one for covering glass. Cut it out of the photo and brought to our canvas.
My gradients are custom made by me and I only keep those I frequently use. The darkest color is #1e1e1e and the lighter one is #555555. Make this gradient and click "ok". When you are finished with all of this it's time to add the glass effect. Command click the gradient layer (ctrl for windows users), this will make a selection around your gradient bar. Now in the upper menu select "Select" and "Transform selection". This will make the selection around your gradient bar adjustable. Just lift the bottom a little, just like mine:
Now we need to repeat step 4 and place a reflection at the bottom of the image. Hold CTRL and click on the Glass layer, Click Select > Modify > Contract and change the contract to 3 pixel. Using the Rectangular Marquee Tool make sure that subtract from selection is selected and subtract from your selection to look like the image below.
37. Or alternatively you can make the text or logo white and just leave it how it is. As long as you don't put it at the top as it won't come out very well
2. Now create to glass orb shape. I'm using the Rounded Rectangular tool. Now fill it in with any color, as the color you choose in this step will not affect the color of the final product.
Now, "Ctrl" click the main shape layers to create a selection around the whole of the magnify glass. After the first selection is made, you will need to hold in the "Shift" key again to add to it. Once the selections have been made, go to the main menu and click "Select" then "Modify" and "Contract" by 2 pixels. Move the selection down as I have done, then create a new layer and place beneath all layers except the background layer. Fill with Black and deselect.
Now change the Blending Mode of this new layer to Multiply (note, it must be above the glass top layer). Also add a nice gradient to the background layer to add more character. Next, we will create a reflection for the glass. Ctrl-Shift-click all the glass and liquid layers to make a selection of all of them, then Ctrl-Shift-C to copy all. Then Paste into a new Layer. You should have a duplicate of the wine glass now. Goto Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical, and position it below the original, like a reflection:

You may find that you need to trim some of the condensation lines. Remember, the values used in this demonstration may differ on your image. Use PhotoShop to its full potential and experiment yourself. Here is our final image:
There are a couple of different ways to simulate etched glass. You may want to etch lettering into clear glass, or you may want to etch glass, leaving a transparent pattern.
....now go to "Filter>D?stort>Glass" from dropdown menu choose "load texture" select your textrue that you saved before for me its "glassbisi.psd" set the numbers as show below...
2. Now we'll begin the process of turning your image into glass. Begin by selecting the layer which your object is located on, then proceed to Blending options by clicking
As a graphics designer I do a lot of business via email. People tell me what they are looking for, and I try to emulate it in a computer graphic. Since you never know what type of person you are dealing with, you should always embelish your design with some kind of watermark. Nothing can stop them from using it with the watermark, but if you do it properly, the least you will get is some free advertisement to your website or company if they decide to rip you off and use it anyway. Fortunately, most people are not this way. I have not been cheated yet, and I plan to keep it that way.
The combination of a bevel with an inner shadow gives a wonderful illusion of transparency, such as you may find in glass or plastic. Taking the image used before, I'm now going to apply a bevel:
Now, go to filter>Liquify or press shift+control+x from the keyboard. Select Warp Tool , set the brush size according to the layer size. Slightly move the Warp Brush to the right side. We are doing this to have a reflection effect in the glass:
2. Now you'll need a picture of a magnifying glass, below this second step you can download one or drag it on your document, it should already be transparent. Everything should look like the second picture for now
Now, make a new layer above the rest. Type out your text. This typically works best with a more round font. I typed out the words "glass text". Here is what you should have:
a) With the Photo layer selected, select all (Ctrl+A), then go in the menu: Filter > Distort > Glass... b) From the texture dropdown, choose Load Texture... Then select the bump map you saved earlier, glass_bump.psd, and press OK. These sliders are self-explanatory, though for this demonstration I will use: Distortion: 20 Smoothness: 8 The Invert option may also produce a desired effect. When you're done here, press OK to apply the filter. Note: Rendering the glass filter a second or third time on the same layer (Ctrl+F) may also produce desirable effects. The following steps are entirely optional, and should be experimented with.
For this glass effect were going to be creating a glass picture frame with a photo in it. Create a new document 600 x 450 pixels, now were going to need a busy background to see the effect, black or white just wont show it very good. Im using a wooden floor background. Select the rectangular marquee tool and create a big rectangle on the canvas.
And that's the base image we'll be using for the stained glass effect. We'll add the light rays in now, which will not only create the light ray effect, but will also bring back some of the detail and brightness into the image.
As a material the term generally refers to glass that has been coloured by adding metallic salts during its manufacture. The coloured glass is crafted into stained glass windows in which small pieces of glass are arranged to form patterns or pictures, held together (traditionally) by strips of lead and supported by a rigid frame.
14. If you want to place your cracked glass, on a lighter background like mine above, just merge down all your layers together into Layer 1, set the Blending Mode for Layer to Difference, and change the colour of your background layer to the lighter colour.
We are at the end. The colors very simply can be varied. The color of the buttons also very simply can be changed. However, it is my recommendation to choose an a little darker one since otherwise the glass effect doesn't emerge so considerably.
This tutorial will teach you how to make a glass button which you can put any logo or image onto. For this tutorial, I will use KillaNet's phoenix logo as the image.
2. Now create to glass orb shape. I'm using the Rounded Rectangular tool. Now fill it in with any color, as the color you choose in this step will not affect the color of the final product.
Step 5: Right click around any part of the line (with the pen tool still selected) and select make selection. The line should now turn into a selection line (dotted-moving one). Press D and then X to make white your foreground color, and then choose the white-transparent gradient. Now, depending on how much of a glass effect you want, drag the gradient tool from the top of the bar to either the bottom of the selection line, or a little bit further than it. That's pretty much it! Just press control+d to deselect, and you're finished.

1. In this tutorial I'll explain how you can create an image zoom effect using the magnifying glass. First of all you'll need a screenshot of something you want to magnify, in my case I searched for the word magnify on wikipedia and took a screenshot of it. Then I openened photoshop (edit - paste) on a new document (800*600).
Have you ever noticed the small icon in the taskbar when Photoshop CS is open? The icon has a glassy look and contains CS's trademark feather. In this tutorial you will learn how to create a similiar, but larger version of this icon.

In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial, we're going to look at a classic Photoshop effect for wedding photography, placing the wedding couple inside a wine glass. This is a very easy Photoshop effect to create, requiring nothing more than a few basic tools, a layer mask, and a few minutes worth of effort. We'll be finishing off the effect with a slightly more advanced blending option, but "more advanced" definitely doesn't mean "more difficult", as we'll see.
Title: How to draw glass bill button using photoshop techniques Description: Great photoshop tutorial for web designers to learn new techniques and design how to design a glass pill button.
In this step we will start by creating a new layer. (ctrl shift N). Next we will create a clipping mask by right clicking on the top layer and scroll to 'create clipping mask'. Now change the background colour in your tool bar to 65645F. We now have our colours to create a gradient. Select the gradient tool by right clicking the paint bucket tool and selecting gradient tool. In the top tool bar, make sure the linear gradient is selected - that is the first in the horizontal list of gradients. Next make sure reverse, dither and transparency are selected. Start your gradient directly in the middle of your ball and pull to the bottom right. Stop just before the ball starts changing colour from where you added the inner glow. Your ball should now look like this:

a) The middle of the curve vertically shifted down. The horizontal middle of the graph represents the middle (neither highlighted, nor shadowed) region of the layer. It used to be the see-through color but now it picks up some color from the shadow color we set.
2. Create a new layer, then take the Gradient Tool and set the Mode to Difference, begin to draw the gradient from top to bottom a few times then can you go crazy all over the canvas.
Let's start with a blank canvas. Create a new layer and then make a selection with the Rectangular Marquee tool. We want it to be the width of the wine glass, but only one pixel high. You may find it easier to zoom in. Like so:
6. This time we'll add a gaussian blur to the layer with the screenshot. Select it and go to (filter blur gaussion blur) with a radius of about 2px.
Step 1 : Open a new file by clicking on File>Open. Open the picture which will show on the other side of the glass. Duplicate the picture 4 times for all the 4 effects. To Duplicate a layer, right click on it. Select Duplicate Layer.
Create a new document 600 x 450 pixels, now were going to need a busy background to see the effect, black or white just wont show it very good. Im using a wooden floor background. Select the rectangular marquee tool and create a big rectangle on the canvas.
