2. Grab the Magic Wand Tool and choose the settings: Tolerance 32, Anti-Aliased checked, Contiguous not checked, and Use All Layers not checked. Click on the black area of your text and press Ctrl+Shift+I (Mac: Cmd+Shift+I) to inverse the selection. Hit Delete to delete the white area. Now, Ctrl+click (Cmd+click) on the layer with the text in the Layers Palette to load it as a selection. Once you've done that add the selection to a new alpha channel. (To do that go to the Channels Palette and create a new channel, then fill it with white). Hit Ctrl+D (Cmd+D) to deselect and go Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur with a radius of 1.2. Hit Ctrl+L (Command+L) and bring the left and right sliders toward the middle until your edges are smooth.
