Duplicate the first original text layer. Move this layer above all the layers in layer order in layer palette. Right click the layer and select convert to shape.

Press CTRL+D to de-select the image and view your finished product. There you have it, your pattern applied over your text. Play around with this to get better or different effects.

And that concludes this very cool and useful text effect. Try applying this effect to different font styles, as well as adjusting the colors used for some very cool effects!
