In this Photoshop photo effects tutorial, we're going to look at how to easily combine reality with a rotoscope-style painting. "Rotoscoping" is the term used when artists paint or trace over live-action film, frame-by-frame, to create an animation, and it's being used in everything from tv commercials to Hollywood movies, most notably the recent Keanu Reeves movie "A Scanner Darkly".

Adding the necessary imperfections is where Photoshop comes in. Blending modes, masks and Alpha Channels can give a convincing distressed effect to your vectors. In reality, a scratched surface would be neither uniform nor consistent across the surface area. That is why we'll use a number of real-world image resources as the basis for this effect, achieving a tactile imperfection.

For the purposes of this tutorial, I need the speedometer at the top of the layers stack so I dragged it upward. Next, press V to select the Move tool and click-and-drag within the document to position the speedometer wherever you'd like. Below I've moved it a little to the right. NOTE: If you do this and nothing happens, make sure you have the right layer highlighted in the Layers palette! Adding a layer mask To fade these two images together, we???ll use the Gradient Tool within a layer mask. A layer mask simply gives us the ability to hide pixels rather than delete them (think of it like digital masking tape). By hiding some of the topmost (speedometer) layer's pixels, we'll see through to the bike layer below, thus the two images will appear blended (or faded) into each other.

I recently completed an experimental personal design project where a piece of digital artwork was created by combining pixel and vector elements. During the process of it's production I captured screenshots and jotted down notes to present the course of the creation as a full blown walkthrough/tutorial. There are plenty of useful little tutorials on the net explaining the use of a single tool, but rarely do you find a more complex explanation on how designer's pull together a completed project. Here you will find a step by step guide of how MY techniques were put to use to make this Snowboarder artwork.

In this awesome photoshop video tutorial you'll learn how to combine body parts, you'll learn how to create those cool images you saw on the net with britney spears naked and other fun photos.

One of the easiest ways to put your own signature on your work and make it truly unique is to go back to basics cracking out the pens, pencils, paints and so on. Use your natural crafting techniques to tell your illustrative story. The following project focuses on how to use the computer to blend your hand-rendered elements to create an image that will be truly individual and faithful to your own style.

Photoshop's Quick Mask mode enables you to create smooth transitions between images on different layers with extraordinary control. Perhaps even easier in many cases is a gradient layer mask.

Combining two photos to create a new look is a fun way to learn various techniques. We’ll learn how to use the Circular Marquee tool from the center, adjusting the opacity of a layer, creating a path from a selection and adding text along it in the process. Let’s get started.

7. Now Switch to Photoshop: Create a new RGB image: File | New. You should notice that Photoshop suggest in the image size the same size of the contents of the clipboard. Once created the image, press Ctrl-V in order to paste the contents of the clipboard.
