Photo Enhancement Tutorial - Photo Manipulation Tutorial Photoshop Photo Manipulation Tutorials In this simple photoshop tutorial we will take an image of a woman and enhance photos with the use of simple photoshop tools such as the lasso, color correction, the color pallete and with the use of the air brush we will enhance the photograph using simple photo manipulation techniques. This photo enhancement tutorial will teach you how to beautify a womans face with makeup.
In this quick Photoshop tutorial I'll teach you how to make a nice, warm, summer photo manipulation for a photo. This tutorial best works for fairly colorful, fairly bright photos. In this tutorial I will be using this stock photo of the lovely Evangeline Lilly.
In this really easy tutorial I'm going to be showing you how to turn a regular old photo into a really interesting, abstract piece of artwork! Just like the one shown below:
This Photoshop tutorial, you will learn how to use a variety of color, lighting, and cut and paste techniques to create a surreal photo manipulation. Combine your creativity with these Photoshop techniques to create your own photo manipulation artworks.
In this tutorial we will be learning how to take a few different stock images and put them together with some text to make a movie poster/DVD cover design. If you followed the first part of this tutorial on destroying a plane then you can use that image as well.
Obviously there's a lot further you can take this but the techniques I've shown here are really all you need to create an abstract photo manipulation like this one.
Create this fun cutout effect that makes the subject look like it's coming in or out of a printed photo. In this Photoshop tutorial, you will learn how to use Photoshop's Extract tool, layer masks, and layer styles to create a cutout from a photo.
Finally, rasterize the layer. Right-click on the layer (not the layer thumbnail) then choose Rasterize Layer. If you are using Photoshop CS1 or older, you don???t need to do this because your layer should already be rasterized.
Make photos look wrinkled. In this Photoshop tutorial, you'll learn how to create a wrinkle paper bump map and combine it with several Photoshop filters to make a photo look wrinkled.
Now for the layer masking of the stock. while having the desaturated layer selected, go to Layer>>Add Layer Mask>>reveal All. When this is done your two layers should look like this:
Using Masking, Blend Modes, and Burn Tool. Photo-manipulation ranges in difficulty. Here I will shoe you a few tips to bring out more depth and get rid of unwanted parts of an image and/or blend them in.
I’m sure there are more but those are the two most important for me. I hate stocks that are grainy they really annoy me. Also if you have stocks. And one is from an Arial view and one is from a close-up view, they aren’t going to go together, and they won’t look like they fit right. So finding stocks is a very important thing to do, and it could effect you entire Photo manipulation.
In this tutorial we will be learning some indispensable techniques to use for any type of photo-manipulation. We will be doing this by taking a photograph of a model plane and editing it to to look like a photograph of a WW2 spitfire which has just been shot down and is on fire. The techniques used here are the same for any type of 'destruction' photo-manipulation. Below is the image you will learn how to create. In the second part of this tutorial we will go on to use this image in a movie poster/DVD cover design.
This tutorial will be slightly different from the majority of the tutorials on the web, firstly because it is not aimed at beginners and secondly it will be giving the techniques and why I used them rather than telling you exactly what buttons to press. However I think I've explained most things to a high enough degree to be understood by people with quite a low knowledge of Photoshop but I haven't gone in to details such as how to create a layer etc.
Although Photomatix produces amazing results and Photoshop's local adaptation methods can create satisfactory results, none of them can produce a layered file. In this Photoshop CS3 tutorial, you'll learn how to tone map three exposures with results better than Photoshop CS3's local adaptation and similar to Photomatix tone mapping. In addition, the document will have seperate layer allowing advance Photoshop users to tweak their image with greater control.
Really great tutorial - good for people who are just getting to know photoshop (like me!) and goes to show how simple it can be to do truly amazing things. Thanks for sharing!
This tutorial will teach you how to create the piece 'Bionic Diver' using a range of techniques including photo manipulation, the clone stamp tool, the histogram, and many more!
I just went through the tutorials Creating Medusa with photo manipulation, I think it was a wonderful programme and I am happy because it has actually help me to realise that a lot can still be done with still images and also can be transposed to animation. Please keep it up to help learners and beginners like myself
Using vibrant colors is the best way to make an image stand out, although getting the right balance is not always easy. Here we learn how to use lots of vibrant color to create a slightly abstract photo manipulation using pencils and fruit. We will learn how to use the pen tool effectively and also some freehand brushing which looks good.
Lets open a new file in your favourite photoshop software version. Then choose a custom size you may choose any size, I will pick Height & width 500500 pixels and Resolution 72 using Mode RGB Color.
Create a new layer in between your skull and face layers, we are going to create a dropshadow. Ctrl+Click your face layer to get a selection, and fill you selection with black. De-select, and choose Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. You should have something similar to mine. Depending on where you want your light coming from, you can move your shadow slightly. For example, I moved it a few pixels downward and to the right.
1. Take a picture of your choice, open it in Photoshop and make it any size you want. Now create a new adjustment layer of Hue/Saturation. Now press D then X and fill the Hue/Saturation Mask changing it from completely white to completely black, however this will not affect your image yet.

Mastering colors in photography is an art only proficient photographers can boast. From a physics point of view, however, color is well known since the beginning of the 20th century. Starring in this brief physical explanation are: electromagnetic radiation, photons, wavelength and energy. When a charged particle is at rest relative to an inertial observer, the observer measures an electric field. But when the same charged particle is in motion relative to the observer, in addition to the electric field another field is observed, which is named magnetic field. These two fields together are called the electromagnetic field. Energy is required to set up an electromagnetic field. This energy remains constant for a static electromagnetic field (i.e. a field that does not change with time). When the field is time dependent, the electromagnetic energy changes with time. These time variations give rise to an electromagnetic wave, propagating at the speed of light. Such a wave carries the energy of the electromagnetic field, and this energy is referred to as electromagnetic radiation. A photon is the quantum of electromagnetic energy and it is entirely determined by the frequency of the radiation. The mathematical defining relation of the photon, relating it to the frequency and to the wavelength of the electromagnetic relation is: E = hf = hc/l where "E" is the photon's energy, "h" the Planck's constant, "f" the frequency, "c" the velocity of light and "l" the wavelength. There is a one-to-one correspondence between energy, frequency and wavelength. Electromagnetic radiation at different wavelength (or energy, or frequency) takes on different names. For instance, if the wavelength is greater than 0.1 meter the radiation is called "radiofrequency"; if it is between 1 millimeter and 1 micron it is called "infrared"; between 0.1 micron and 1 nanometer it is "ultraviolet"; between 1 nanometer and 0.1 angstrom "X-rays" and, finally, if greater than 0.1 angstrom "gamma rays". As we all know, photography deals with visible electromagnetic radiation (light). This is a very narrow region of the electromagnetic spectrum, namely between 4000 and 8000 angstrom. Our eye is able to reveal electromagnetic radiation only in this region, and it perceives different wavelengths as different colors. For instance we perceive electromagnetic radiation at 8000 angstrom as red, at 5600 as yellow, at 5000 as green, at 4500 as blue and at 4000 as violet. Black and white are not colors: bl...
Here???s the image we???ll need to add the other image to. To use these examples, right-click each and save the images to your computer and open them both in Photoshop.
In this Photoshop tutorial, we???ll create an advertisement for LASIK laser eye surgery. Please enjoy the tutorial as a learning experience and not as an instructional about how to create a LASIK advertisement for real-world projects. The completed ad sends a misleading message about how LASIK laser eye surgery works. In a real LASIK laser eye surgery, it???s not as simple as what will be shown in the ad we???re making. There are many things placed on the eye or around the eye such as a device that keeps the eyelids opened; all of which will look more unpleasant than what we???ll be making in Photoshop.
Learn how to create a suspenseful photo manipulation in Photoshop. You will learn how to create realistic distortions with the displace filter and apply photo effects to give it a cold look.

7) Make a copy of the sky layer and reflect it - to make reflections on the water - use filter - ocean ripple - to distort this layer - to get a wavy looking style.
Now add a stock photo of a flame scene with electricity flares on your canvas, you can download the image used in this tutorial here. Then grab the eraser tool with a large soft brush and Erase the bottom part of the flame scene stock photo layer.
1. The first sharpening is to improve the original digital capture or scan. Digital cameras and scanners soften images to different amounts, so the image will require a little sharpening.
When I try using the history brush to repair parts of my extracted image, I get a Photoshop error message Could not use the history brush because the current canvas size idoes not match that of history state.. This is pretty annoying, and none of the solutions I found to fix this problem seem to work. However, you'll always run into problems in design, and the trick is to find an alternate solution to work around them!
For this tutorial you'll need the two stock photos included, one should be a blonde girl and the other should be a blue sky. You'll also need the star and moon brushes from Digital Wonderland. Before you start this tutorial please go to Window > workspace > Reset Palette Locations so we can make sure we're on the same page. :) 1. We're going to start with the background. Go to Image > Adjustments and click Desaturate. The photo should be black and white now. 2. Go to Image > Adjustments and click Auto Contrast. The sky should be almost completely black while the clouds should remain the same shades of grey/white. 3. The rest is pretty simple. For the stars and moons I used Digital Wonderland , and I believe there are Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro versions of each. Just make sure you're using your brush tool at an opacity of 100%. I would recommend making a new layer (Layer > New > Layer) to put your stars and moons on in case you decide you don't like some of them or you change your mind. If you'd rather paint your own moon using Photoshop textures, keep reading. If you're happy with what you've got, skip the next section. Painting the Moon On "Stellar" I just used brushes, but if you'd like to you can paint your own moon using Photoshop textures and the dodge and burn tools for shading. 1. Go to your Marquee tools and hold down on the bottom right hand corner until a submenu comes up. Choose the Elliptical Marquee Tool. Open up the photograph of the sky we just finished working on and go to Layer > New > Layer. Pick a spot on your sky and use the Marquee to make a circle. 2. Go to Edit and click Fill. In the window that pops up, go to the drop down box underneath Contents and choose Pattern. The next dropdown box will become available, and you can pick premade Photoshop textures. Pick the one you like best. Make sure the Opacity is at 100% and the Blending mode is normal and click okay. You should have something like this 3. Now to make the moon look more round, go to Filter > Distort > Spherize. The edges will be a little rough so go ahead and use the blur tool to soften them a bit. You should use a fairly small brush for this as if you don't you'll mess up the textures on your moon. The brush I used was 13 Px. 4. The last part will be to use the dodge and burn tools to add lightness and darkness to your moon. I use a fairly large brush for this part since it makes it easier. I suggest you play with the tools and their exposure levels to get it exactly ho...
Alright so you want multicolored eyes? It may look difficult but it's fairly simple. I'm going to assume you know about layers and things, if not again read my other tutorial. This one will include no images for now..I might add them later on. Again you will need a decent picture to work with. Lets use this: First I want to change my skin tone. So, once the eye is in photoshop, flatten it and then duplicate the layer. Next go to Image>Adjustments> Hue/Saturation. With the edit set to Master, change the Hue to +7 and the Saturation to -66 and leave the Lightness at 0. The image should look almost gray. Next, we want the eye to stay colorful, so take the eraser tool, set it to size 35, soft edge and erase the pupil and iris ONLY. Be careful around the edges. Now, flatten the image and duplicate it once more. Then go to Image>Adjustments> Variations. Time for the first color change, I'd suggest just following me if it's your first try, but, if you dont want to use my colors feel free to experiment and find what you like. I'm going to use green, so in variations click in this order then click ok: Yellow, Green, Darker. Now the eye should be nice and green but we dont want it on the skin. So take the eraser and set it to a size 65 soft edge brush and erase the greenness from the skin and white part of the eye CAREFULLY going around the iris so you dont erase any of the green there, if the green is too noticeable on the pupil CAREFULLY erase that. Now, select the burn tool and set the Range to Midtones, and the Exposure to 57%, make the brush size 21, soft edge. Now trace along the edge of the iris so you darken up the edges. Once you're done select the Dodge tool, Rage: Midtones Exposure:37% Brush: 27 soft. Go around the middle of the iris right under the pupil and CAREFULLY around the newly darkened edges. This gives the eye a little more depth and makes it look like you didn't just go over it with a paintbrush ^_^ Now, go to Image>Adjustments>Levels. Set the Channel to Blue and match these settings: Input Levels:0, 0.60, 204 It should look a bit more 'lively' now. Now! Time for the fun stuff. Flatten the image, and duplicate it again (you're going to be doing this a lot now) Now pick a spot where you'd like your first color change and select the Dodge tool and go over that spot a little (I wouldn't make it too big). Again I'd suggest following me but do whatever color you like. I'm going to do a lightish purple color. So in variations click: Magenta, Magenta,...
