Images enhance the presentation of our articles and help others to learn. They clarify and illustrate text. They can also be used on your User or Talk pages. By following the simple steps below, you can be assured that your images will not be deleted.

    Read wikiHow's Image Copyright and Image Deletion policies.
    • We allow our images to be freely modified and redistributed.
    • Objectionable images will be deleted.

    Review our acceptable image licenses.
    • We allow most freely licensed images.
    • The vast majority of images found on the Internet are not freely licensed.

    Read how to upload an image to wikiHow.
    • Obtain permission from a photographer or copyright holder.
    • Obtain permission from a website that uses "© All Rights Reserved".
  4. 4
    Try our Free Image Tool or current images.
  5. 5
    Apply appropriate attribution information to an image page.
    • Desrcibe who photographed or created an image.
    • Provide a link to the original source of an image.
  6. 6
    Apply appropriate licensing information to an image page.
    • Licenses govern how an image may be used.
    • If you created an image, use a Public Domain or Creative Commons License.
    • If you did not create an image, use a license identical to the original license of the image.

    Use images that you upload or import within
    seven
    days    .
    • Images not in use will be deleted.
    • Images must be linked to an Article or Discussion page, or an editor's User or Talk page.
