Sorry I can't include the exact textures I used here. The ones on the 3d Total texture CD are obviously available by buying the CD, so giving them away for free is out of the question. As for the others, I can't remember exactly where I got some of them, which means I can't find out what the rules were regarding redistribution of them. Most were found on texture websites or on occasion a 3d artist's personal site that I visited so its probably not a problem but I'd prefer to play safe here. If you look you WILL find some that you can use. Also magazines like Computer Arts and 3d World regularly have textures on their cover CD's.

This Batman movie, starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, is one of my favourite movie this year. Christopher Nolan (director) is absolutely did a great job. Back to tutorial :). In this first tutorial part, you will create background for title. It's a kind of shiny burst light effect. Let's begin!

[1]-Start 3dsmax and choose Box with the following size as shown below Create two boxes like this

2. Go to Image>Image Size. Fill Width=20 and Height=20 and the click OK. Your image is as small as an icon now. Go to Edit>Define Pattern. Fill a name. I named this pattern "mosaic". After that, press Ctrl+Z to undo previous action. Your image size is back to normal, but your pattern is still saved in Photoshop.

however, this is BADASS. i mean, i'm a cs3 user and most of these tuts are directed to ps7 thru cs2. i think it's great you used a method that shows off how it's evolved.
