Learn how to turn a black and white photo into color. This tutorial will teach you how to use non-destructive adjustment layers to color an image....

Create a new layer, set its Blending Mode to Color, and with a Paint brush set at very, very low opacity, slightly color the source of the blast.

1. Create a new document, 800 x 600. Make sure the background is white and create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N).

Press Ctrl+J to copy paste the selection in a new layer. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings as shown.

Start a new document, whatever size you want, this effect has no purpose other than a nice background for your wallpaper or something... so lets make it BIG!. I'm making mine : 1024x768

In this tutorial, you will take a digital photograph of a person or layout and create a sci-fi looking laser blast. You will learn how to create colors using layers and blending modes. This is an exciting tutorial that will WOW your friends!

One extra thing you can do is to add some color to your Light Blast Text. There are many ways to do this. Our favorite way is to use overlays.

7. Now we will make the blast bend a bit, this can be done in may ways, such as filter twirl, wave etc. I choosed twirl so go to filters -> distort -> twirl and drag the handle as in the image below.

Create New layer, above the back ground layer(locked layer), make a spot on it from your soft brush of "diameter : 210", as shown in the image.

[1] First of all I have taken a new file of height = 400 pixels, width = 400 pixels and resoulation of 72 dpi in the RGB mode.

Now would be a good time to copy the blast layer if you want more then one blast ring. You can do this by pressing CTRL + J to duplicate the current layer, then click the eye icon next to the dup layer to turn it off for now.

Now, lets fill this with one of photoshop's integrated patterns. Go to Edit->Fill, and for Contents: Use: select Pattern. and then choose this pattern from your list:

2. Go to Filter>Pixelate>Color Halftone and now a dialog box will appear, look at the image below for the settings. And then go to Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates and set it to Rectangular to Polar.

Step 1: Create a new document with new 300x300 with white background. Then press 'D' to reset the colors.
