Step 4: Next we will make a glossy effect on the top of the text. Create a new layer and Ctrl-left click on your text layer to select it

Step 2: Duplicate the layer by pressing Ctrl + J and rasterize the top text layer by right clicking on the layer and then clicking rasterize type. Hide the bottom layer for now.

There we go! Perfect big bold Glossy text without doing hardly anything! You might want to add in a reflection or something like that, but that's the finished result!

Note: If you would rather load the layer style of the text, there is a link to it at the bottom of the tutorial. This can save you time.

6. After that, click the point on the far right and make a box over the text like the way I did it.

After Step 2 Select the Text Tool (Hit "T" for activating or directly select it from tool Box Window). Add what ever text you feel like with the font of your own choice. Use same Blending options as discussed above or directly copy the Layer Style incase you made the button first from the ellipse layer.

What a nice Tutorial!! Looks so cool but I would like to know what font is that, cause' it's never the same without it.

In this Adobe Photoshop video tutorial I will show you how easy it is to make a web 2.0 graphic element. It tutorial was actually improvised, I opened Photoshop and started drawing and adding effects. Its not the most challenging and advanced effect, but I think it sums up a lot of issues concerning how to make a simple web 2.0 graphic element.

This is our second tutorial on the subject of making glossy text, this is another simple technique you can use for website headers or logos with just a few layer effects.

This glossy text can be added to any Adobe Photoshop CS3 project. A high gloss makes this text pop - and the best part of this text is that it is transparent. A simple background change or color overlay will get you glossy text in whatever color you want. Check out this video tutorial to find out how you can create a glossy text effect in Photoshop CS3.
