8. Layer/merge down. Use rectangular marquee tool and put box around the word speed so that the height and with are the same size as the word. 9. Filter/stylize/solarize

Use Filter --> Stylize --> Wind (from the right) on your original text layer 3 or 4 times until it looks something like this:

Now we move on, and we make some text, so using the font I've provided make your text, I'm going to use Sconner for my example. Make your font size about 72px so we have it nice and big.

If you haven't already bring the normal text layer above the speed lines layer by selecting the text layer and dragging it above the speed lines layer. Your layers panel should look like this:

Step 7: Then go to image-rotate canvas 90CW. Now go again Filters => Distort => Polar Coordinates and this time choose the upper -Rectangular to Polar- radio button. And Your Speed Type Text Looks like a great effect!

Here's my final product! It took me about 2 minutes to create this, and it does a great job to show speed or movement! I suggest you experiment with the above effects (try repeating steps 6 and 7!), to get exactly what your looking for!

2) We are now going to duplicate our text leayer. Go to Layer -> Duplicate Layer (Or hit Ctrl-J)
