First we need to prepare some stuff in photoshop, find an image of a speaker that will work for you, I found mine through afterimage.com, a site with some royalty free images, only problem is that they usually are not taken for the purpose that we need it, so I had to clip out the background and refine some edges but thats with photoshop.

First to make this effect work we need to type in some text, then split it up into separate letters we then convert into separate movie clips to animate.

So we need to make a ball, I did it quite easy, just found an image of a ball. Now you need to convert it into a movieclip and give it an instance name, I named mine ball_mc.

20 Move the logo above the stage by holding Shift and pressing the Up arrow key on your keyboard repeatedly.

Part 1 of this tutorial will take Flash novices through the fundamental principles behind drawing and animating vectors in Flash. We'll be drawing and animating a bouncing beach ball. Prior knowledge of Flash will of course help, but the following techniques should be accessible to everyone and with most software versions. Part 2 coming soon...

Well enough about that, this is a flash video tutorial that shows how to animate a ball bouncing on the floor with an animated shadow, hope you enjoy the new quality, if its still hard to see, just click the link to a full screen view of the flash tutorial.

7. Now select the shadow layer, and with the oval tool draw the shadow as shown below. Make sure the shadow shape is placed the same place as where the ball is going to at frame 5.

In the red ball's code you'll notice the following code: dr=_root.dir.drwmax; in the third line. This gets the value for the number of lines to draw before clearing the box and assigns it to the variable "dr". The value comes from the "drwmax" property of the "dir" object in the parent. Farther down in the red ball's script is the following code: c=c+1; if (C>dr){_root.clear();c=0;}

Step 1: Create a new flash document and press Ctrl-J to open the Document Properties box and set the dimensions to 400px width, 300px height and a frame rate of 50 fps with a black background color

This tutorial was written for the Flash Designer software, which allows you to create flash animations in a much easier way than by using Macromedia Flash. You may get Flash Designer here.
