In this tutorial we will teach you how to fade text in Flash.

On the timeline insert a new key frame at frame 20 and 40 by selecting F6 at each frame. This creates a short pause after the text fade effect. You can make this pause shorter by decreasing the number of frames after the second key frame.

Hi folks, here's another tutorial I made for you. Its a fading script that I usually use. But instead of using a normal tween, I use actionscript to fade images.

I just made this great new Flash video tutorial where you will see how to make a great text animation effect. I got inspired but a movie, it was this kind of effect used to present the actors at the start of the movie. Just thought it would be great to do it in Flash.

Series: SWF Quicker 2.0 Estimated Time of Completion: 15 minutes

1. First of I made a gradient background for this effect. Now type in the text you want to add this effect to.

And now we are done, I just added a rectangle shape with not fill color, converted it to a movie clip, animated it by scaling it and put down the alpha just a with the text effect.

Now right click on Frame 1 and Create Motion Tween as shown in the image below. Repeat this for frame 20.

2. Type FLASH & POINT separately using Text tool. Convert them into symbol using F8 key. Bring FLASH to the center of the stage.

We will create a simple text fading effect using flash. First create a new document. Set the dimension to Width: 550 pixel ,Height: 400 pixel and the background color to white. Click on the Text Tool and type something in your work area. I typed www.pixeldigest.com.

While having that bar selected, select your text by pressing on it(you must press again even though it looks as if it's selected). Under color, select alpha.

Now, as you are half way along your timeline, you text should appear semi-transparent, and the timeline should appear a blue kind of color:

Fading is an indispensable technique for flash designers. If you are a movie fan, you would have seen this technique a lot during the intro to the main movies. And sometimes designers use multiple fading effects to give a nice touch and professional look to their designs.

Here's a fairly simple technique to achieve a directional fade-in. Using this method, you can fade any object into view from any direction.
