This tutorial is �How To Make An Aqua Button�, It is a very good tutorial and explains fully what to do, I have tried and tested it and it works fine for me, any problems let me know and I will do my best to help you. 1. Create a new 340x340 pixel document and name it Aqua Button. Now make a pattern of your choice and make it the background. Then show channels, and create a new channel.
8. Now open a picture of water droplets ( such as this ) and copy/paste this image into a new layer somewhere inbetween your existing layers. Set the layer mode to overlay and then erase any place where the droplets obstruct the beautiful girl like I have done here: You should now have the below image. So, duplicate the water Layer, and change the 'Blending Mode' to 'Screen', and bump down the 'Opacity' level to one that you are comfortable with. 8. Now rasterize the new shape layer that you drew with the "Pen Tool", then go to "Edit" and lastly "Cut". 3. Do not lose the selection of the text. Switch to the Channels palette, create a New Channel and fill the selection in white. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and enter 14. Then again, Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and enter 7. And again Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and enter 4, last time Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and enter 2. ok you are now done blurring. Deselect (CTRL+D) and go back to the Layers palette. Now hold CTRL and click on "Layer1" now go to Filter > Render > Lighting Effects. Match These Settings PS. You can save your newly created aqua style to for future use. In the Layer style dialogue, press "new style" and in the window that will appear, give it a name and hit OK. Your style is saved. Now "Ctrl" click the "Button" layer to create a selection around it and select the "Brush Tool" with a soft edged 7 pixel brush. Next create a new layer and brush along the bottom inside edge of the selection with 4fa4a7 as the color. Create a new layer ( press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+N ) ,then with Brush tool, fill the bottom part of the layout. This is my result Then, select the "Rounded Rectangle Tool". Draw a rectangle as illustrated below with a radius of 10 pixels and color 232321. Then go to the main menu and select "Layer" then "Rasterize" and lastly, "Shape". By the way, this layer will need to be below the text layer for obvious reasons. Step 1: Start with a large black canvas, in your layers window make a new layer set. Name it Aqua style tabs.
