Premise for Photoshop Tutorial Series: You are a web designer at a small agency, and a client has called to request that you prepare a mock-up for a new home page for is company that sells gifts in Victoria. This Tutorial series was perfected and used in College Web Master classes by Author/Instructor Scott Frangos. Now you can build your Web Graphics skills in Photoshop, as you learn your way through this classroom tested series on preparing Art for the Web.

In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial, we're going to learn how to create a collage of "warped" photos. Now, don't go letting your imagination run wild here. When I say "warped", I don't mean "sick, twisted and shocking", unless of course those are the types of photos you want to use. What I'm talking about is photos that we'll be bending, curling, distorting and reshaping using Photoshop's Warp Tool.

In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial, we're going to learn how to take a single photograph and turn it into a collage of polaroids, with each polaroid containing a small section of the overall image. You can use this effect with lots of different types of images, whether it's a photo of one person or several people. It's great for photos of family or friends, vacation photos, or even as a creative effect for wedding photography.

We need to add a new blank layer between the two layers we currently have in the Layers palette. To do that, with "Layer 1" selected, hold down the Ctrl (Win) / Command (Mac) key on your keyboard and click on the New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers palette. Normally Photoshop adds the new layer above the currently selected layer, but by holding down Ctrl/Command, this tells Photoshop to add the new layer below it instead:

Now let's start building our Camouflage Collage Jacket. We're going to break it into six parts. This will give us some flexibility. You could choose to break it up into more or fewer parts. I chose to use vector masks. This was chosen because we're using a collage style. The vector masks give hard-edged cuts. It fits the style of what we are looking for. We will work from back to front. Let's start with the left side.

I'm into the spirit of the 4th of July here in the States, and wanted to share with you how I created an awesome collage. This tutorial will focus on layers, layer styles, masks and photo manipulation. You'll need to use 3 photos to follow along, then can all be downloaded here.

Today, we have another round up to showcase best pick of collage themes web design from the internet. Enjoy the inspiring moment to learn more about each of them and tell us what you think. Feel free to mention yours or any other collage themes web design that we haven't put them on the list ;)

Tutorials on creating metal type abound online, as do variations on simple liquid effects. Most are fairly short, offering a good foundation for the reader on how certain effects are achieved but fail to take that extra step (or few steps) to make the piece really shine. Once you have an idea of how different techniques fit together in a piece, it is fairly easy to combine, say, the process to create metal and the process to create liquid to create something that exists in both sides of the FX map.

3. Open up the file you downloaded that is called 'Grunge Burst'. Grab the move tool (keyboard shortcut 'v') drag the Grunge Burst to the center of your collage document. This will place the burst on a new layer at the top of your layers. Rename this layer 'Burst'.

We have chosen these two photos to create a photo collage: a photo of a poplar against the autumn sky and a photo of a charming girl.

We will create a simple collage of 3 photographs named photo1, photo2, photo3 in here, but you can add as many photos as you want. A collage is made of a minimum of 2 photographs.

Next you want to get an image that you would like to make look like its made with the collage. I chose another image again from comstock. Here is the image I am going to use:

So if the photo-as-poster model isn't going to work, then we need another look. I decided to put together what I call the old-collage feel. This is a good one to work with as it's very easy to combine elements on a page since everything is meant to look a little messy anyway.

Now that our first photo is in front of the background inside the document we'll be using for our collage, we can move and resize it as needed. To do that, press Ctrl+T (Win) / Command+T (Mac) to once again bring up the Free Transform box and handles around this image. To move the photo with Free Transform, simply click anywhere inside the photo (except for on the small target icon in the center) and drag the image into position with your mouse. To resize the image, hold down Shift and drag any of the corner handles. Holding down Shift as you drag constrains the the width and height proportions of the image, maintaining its original shape. To resize the image from its center, hold down Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) as you drag (you can hold Shift as well to constrain the proportions and resize from the center at the same time). You can also rotate the image if you want by moving your mouse cursor just outside the Free Transform box and then clicking and dragging your mouse.

In this Photoshop tutorial, we're going to learn how to blend photos together like a Hollywood movie poster. Blending photos is easy to do in Photoshop thanks to layer masks, yet finding two photos with similar colors isn't always so easy, and you end up with a photo effect that doesn't really seem to look right because the colors don't match.

Collage Of Polaroids From A Single Photo - Steve Patterson Take a single photograph and turn it into a collage of polaroids, with each polaroid containing a small section of the overall image.

In photoshop I like to check the 'auto-select' box for the move tool at this stage as that way I can just press a layer and move it around. When I'm not doing that I'll right click in the move tool over the image and pick from the drop down. I tend to use the layer palette as little as possible and rarely name layers. When I start to get a couple hundred layers with 8 or 9 overlapping any given part of the image I'll name a few of the key layers. Before that, I find it's just a waste of time only needed by the neat freaks of the world

There are a lot of different ways to do a collage. You could do a whole bunch of different sized images here and there. I decided to go with a more uniform type of look. I am going to use 3 images that are all the same size. I have found for this project, making the width of your individual photos about 55% of the width of the document seems to work well. For example, if you are creating 1024x768 image, you would want the width of your 3 photos around 550 pixels. This is not set in stone and you can certainly play with these numbers to get the right feel for your collage. The resolution for all of my images is set to 72 pixels/inch for viewing on a computer monitor. If you were planning on printing this, you would want to increase that to 150 pixels/inch or higher.

In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial you will see how to make a little girl into a fairy princess with tender butterfly wings.

Load up the image. Make sure there is a layer below the image filled with white.

Pop open two images and position the document windows so that you can see both of them along with your Layers palette. From the Layers palette, click-and-drag one image into the other window, as shown below. When you see the inside of the target window highlight slightly (you can barely see it below), release the mouse. Since the speedometer layer is at the top of the layers stack (circled in red below), that's the image I see. The image of the bike is being covered by the speedometer. You can rearrange the order of items in the Layers palette by clicking-and-dragging them upward or downward. In the screenshot below, I've dragged the bike layer to the top of the layers stack which makes it visible. Now the bike is covering the speedometer layer.

Notice how it interacts with the background?

Tip: Holding down the shift key will draw perfect horizontal and vertical lines.

Now select your foreground color. I chose a flesh tone. (Open the color picker by clicking on the swatch at the bottom of the toolbar)

You can use the resize handles to change the shape of the box.

Here I have a photo of the Brooklyn Bridge. I’ll use the same photo to make a simple collage.
