In part two of our seven part series called �Design your desk�, we're going to be looking at the creation of your computer's horsepower - The Tower - or in this case, an iMac. As usual, this tutorial will cover everything from drawing the basic shape, to shading and shadowing.
In this new 7-Part �Design Your Desk� series, we'll be looking at creating all the different elements that reside on your desk. Starting up with Part 1, we'll be looking at designing your viewport into the world of Photoshop - your monitor.
Now grab your Rounded Rectangle Tool again. Set the radius to 6px. Then create a rectangle about the size of the track pad. Finally, distort it using Edit -> Transform -> Distort to the shape of the track pad, like shown below.
Once again, Select (Select -> Load Selection) the side. Then, grab the gradient tool, and set it to Linear, Black to transparent. Then, make a gradient like you see below. Repeat the same step for the top panel.
Press Ctrl+A to select all, and then goto Edit > Define Pattern. Give it a name and click Ok. Now we can close this document and go back to our original composition. Make a selection of the paper by Ctrl-clicking that layer, and then in our new layer, choose the Paint Bucket tool and choose the Pattern instead of Foreground, in the toolbar options. From the patterns drop-down menu, choose the one we just created, which should be at the bottom. Then fill in the selection:
