What is matte painting? - you ask. Matte painting is a mixture of photo manipulation and digital paintings to create the vision of a place that makes you believe it really exists. Matte paintings are widely used as backgrounds for movies and video games.

Step 1 - In this tutorial you are going to learn how to recreate a realistic horror scene. Open the original picture into Photoshop (a simple Google search will bring a lot more up as well!) Duplicate that layer (layer > duplicate) Pages: First 1 2 3 4 Last

You can use this reel to create media, movie or editing related logos. Create a new file and type your text. Arrange the movie reel in the text. We replaced "O" in movie with reel to create an interesting logo.

Now go crazy and add some text! Once you've added the text you're done! Here's my final result of my clapboard:

So I purposely looked for a white background photograph which would just make for a nice clean fit for the logo/title (also being influenced by the 'movie of a similar name' vhs packaging). We want a nice, clean crisp image and this photo has kind of a dirty laundry white so lets easily fix that by going to create Levels adjustment layer and bring up the light by dragging the white slider to the left. Whammo! This is the powerful of Photoshop at work.

18. Hold CTRL and click the thumbnail of the movie strip on the layers palate, hold CTRL + SHIFT and press I - to invert your selection

You need to select the part of the frames that you would like to have for your avatar. To do this hold shift and drag the slider to make the selection in the way shown below

In this tutorial I will be teaching you how to make a simple Clapboard, like the ones used in movies (See Figure Below). This is going to be quick and simple, so let's get started

This Photoshop Tutorials will show you how to create dragan effect as you may have seen on 300 the movie. You may also want to see how to create HDR photo effect using photoshop.

Now click on the layer in the layers palette to get out of the text editing field and choose Gradient Overlay from the pop-up layer styles menu on the lower left.

THANK YOU!!! You saved me hours of time that I didn't have! Brilliant and complete. I made an Indiana Jones movie open but changed Harrison Ford's face to my son's image and replaced the Indiana Jones Title with his name for his birthday video. (I have posted my finished movie cover at my web site under PROJECTS).

Seriously though, GI is is very messy at the moment and needs a good clear out and a few things correcting, even the moaners can't moan about us wanting to improve things.

So first you need to pick out a photo.

Originally, I had an idea of drawing a simple TV and then animating its screen, but then I changed my mind and decided to create a more quality-looking appliance to work with. So, the tutorial will consist of 2 parts, the first one devoted to drawing of the TV set and the second one to animating it.

In this tutorial I will replace the faces of Jessica Alba and Ioan Gruffudd with Paris Hilton and Leonardo DiCaprio, respectively. The original picture is a movie poster (from Fantastic Four). It's generally easier to replace faces on movie posters than regular photographs because they are already airbrushed so its okay if the final doesn't look completely natural. The same principles can be applied to when you apply a different face on a photograph that isn't a movie poster It just takes more time, effort, and precision.

I like to tinker myself a bit and I also like to write tutorials with “PS? and I am also working in a German forum.

It's been hotly debated on the SuperHeroHype whether or not Wonder Woman could look good on screen with her iconic costume. It's my intention to show, with the right art direction, that it can be done, and of course how I created the image.

We've got a multi-parter today. The obscure comic character Jonah Hex is in film production starring John Malkovich, Josh Brolin and Megan Fox. Inspired by the art in the following pic, I decided to put together some live-action elements to see how this imagery might look.
