In this tutorial, we will show you how to create an alternative page curl effect. We will be making use of the warp tool in this tutorial.

Now we right-click the path in the Paths panel and choose Make Selection, no Feather Radius. We can now delete the path and go back to our Layers. Let's create a new layer and choose the gradient tool. We want to create a new gradient for our page curl - something like this:

Note This tutorial was created using Photoshop 6. However, by converting some of the quick-keys and menu items mentioned, it can be made to work in any version of Photoshop. You should also be somewhat familiar with creating Paths before attempting this tutorial. This is not a beginner's tutorial. But feel free to try it if you like.

As always a really nice tutorial. Don't know if pagecurls is something I'll use alot, but great to improve my Photoshop skills :)

Next, we will delete this selected area and then make a new selection, where the page curl will be. Like so:

Open up the image you want to add a page curl to, I'm going to use my car blueprint from a tutorial i recently created.

Following on from the Torn Paper tutorial, the page curl is also commonly used in creating the distressed and collage looks. This simple walkthrough can be applied to any photo to add an extra bit of detail.

With this tutorial, I am going to show you how to achieve a page curl effect in just a few easy steps. This tutorial use the Warp filter so it's for Photoshop CS2 only.

Make a page curl effect In this tutorial we'll see how the page curling effect can be made. Open a picture in Photoshop on which you want to apply the effect. I used this picture of Rodney Mullen. Since we're going to warp the picture, locker background layer is not an option. Duplicate layer (Layer / Duplicate Layer) and then select the original. Go to Edit / Fill and fill the original background layer with white. Go to Edit / Transform / Warp. It'll divide your picture in certain number of squares. We need this so we can draw guide lines. It's easier to select a corner you want to warp with the guide lines on. Cancel that warp and draw guide lines where the warp borders were. After you add guide lines to the picture, pick Rectangular Marquee Tool and select one of the corners. Now pick the Gradient Tool with the black/white colors for the foreground/background. Add the gradient to that square so that the white is in the corner of the picture. At any point you can hide the guide lines by pressing ctrl+;. Deselect the selection (Selection / Deselect) and again go to Edit / Transform / Warp. Now grab the bottom point and drag it near the center of the picture. For the realistic look we're going to add some shadow. Go to Blending Options and set Drop Shadow on settings you like. I'll go with this: That is it.

With the selection active, press CTRL/CMD + T to Transform, right click and select Warp from the menu. Drag the lower corner point inwards to bend the edge of the image upwards to simulate a page curl.

In this tutorial we are going to show how you can make a page curl effect with simple steps using warp technique in photoshop.

Make a selection of the layer by clicking on it in the layers palette while holding the Ctrl key.

Step 1) Get both images on layer 1 and layer 2 like image below
