3. Now go to Image > Rotate Canvas > 90 degree CW, and apply the Wind Filter again (or hit CTRL F). Rotate and repeat until the text is again in its normal position. It will now look like this:

3. Hit CTRL-E to merge down the layers. Now duplicate your layer and select the upper one. Apply Filter > Pixelate > Mosaic and set the Cell Size to 9 or 10, depending on the size of your text.

6. Use this with Image type or cut it out for other purposes. With image type you can smudge tool the texture into flames.

Burning text is a great looking special effect and it can be achieved with relative ease in Photoshop. Even a glossy looking surface reflection is easy to pull off. This tutorial shows how to make flaming text, but the technique will work with any kind of object. Here's what the finished product looks like from this tutorial:

Choose Layer->Merge Visible to collapse all the layers together. You can stop here if the text effect is all you need. But we can also take it further by adding a reflection in the foreground. This is a great way to add more depth and it's quite easy.

In this tutorial, we will be looking at how to create a Ring of Fire from scratch in PhotoShop. This example was created with PhotoShop CS3, but you can use most - if not all - versions of PhotoShop to recreate the effect.

In this tutorial we'll create a fire effect on text using liquify filter. Liquify is a great filter to achieve fluid effects.

I got this idea when I was looking at some online magazine. so lets create a photoshop tutorial of this unique image that represent Fire and black smoke. The flame I have drawn looks very unique and I have used smudge tool to make them look really cool. oops I mean HOT.

- First open a new 500 x 500 PSD document. - Go to Layer -> New -> Layer, and click ok. - Change your foreground color to black. (#000000) - Now fill the newly created layer with the black color, using the paint-bucket-tool (). - Change your foreground color to white (#FFFFFF), and now type some text. - Go to Filter -> Distort -> Twirl, apply the following changes and press ok:

In this Photoshop text effects tutorial, we're going to learn how to create a fire text effect, engulfing our letters in burning hot flames. We'll be using Photoshop's powerful Liquify filter for most of the work on the flames themselves, but we'll also be taking a look at the Wind filter, using adjustment layers to colorize the flames, layer styles for adding color to our text, layer masks for blending the flames with the letters, and more!

1. First of all open a new document [ here I have used , width -300 / height -300 / reso-72 ]

Title: Simple Fireball Description: This is an odd, yet simple fireball tutorial we created! It is different and purely unique from other fireball tutorials on the web!

In this tutorial we will be learning some indispensable techniques to use for any type of photo-manipulation. We will be doing this by taking a photograph of a model plane and editing it to to look like a photograph of a WW2 spitfire which has just been shot down and is on fire. The techniques used here are the same for any type of 'destruction' photo-manipulation.

Now I begin working on my background. I create a new layer above my black background layer called 'clouds' and go to filter>render>clouds. Then I reduce my layer opacity to 10% and erase away all of my clouds apart from those around the neck of my guitar. This creates a subtle eerie looking background, and the smoke fits well with the fire.

In his article "What inspires you?" David Airey gives some of his sources of inspiration. He also references a group project at Inspiration Bit on this subject Group Project: Source of Inspiration. Some great comments on this post as well. Here is a part of the first comment "You????????re right, there are so many things around us that can spark an inspiration flame, all we need is to capture, seize that moment - 'carpe diem' and realize it in our work." If your interested in the firing up your inspiration visit the article below.

First you create a layer using the gradient map feature. you can find it by clicking on the half black and white circle at the bottom of layers palette.

Size: 8 mb Format: abr (Photoshop CS*). Huge size of brushes. License: Free for all, do not sell Homepage: Fire wings

Step 14. When you are satisfied with the result, you can enhance the fire effect, make a Merged Copy of all layers and paste it in a new layer, go to Filters > Other > High Pass, apply it with a 6-8 radio and set the layer transfer mode to Soft Light. Paste again and apply a 15 radius Gaussian Blur effect. Go to Image > Adjustments > Hue Saturation and set parameters to Colorize, Hue to 0, Saturation to 40 and Lightness to -5. Hit Ok. When you are done duplicate the background layer, link with all the other layers but the background and hit cmnd+E (or you can choose merge linked).

Step 3. Select layer 1 on the Layers table. Choose Layer / Layer Style / Outer Glow (or click on the F icon under the Layers Table).

This tutorial will show you how to make real fire that together with good photography can be used to make impressive results

This tutorial will show you various methods on using the smudge tool, blend modes and effects, hue/saturation adjustments, and gradients. First I start off with a 400X400 (px) canvas with a black background. Next I just chose a simple arial font and wrote fire text with smoke.

hi, i'm very interested in this lesson, but for some reason when i click on the plastic wrap in the later part of iti don't come up with the same effect as yoursmine just ends up very uniform all aroundunlike your red portion which doesn't seem to be as stained glass as the resti followed everything to the dotpls. helpmy version is adobe photoshop cs2. thanks!

I wrote this for a graphics forum I worked at but I figured I would post it here as well. 1.) Open a new document any size 2.) Open or create a fire picture (can find some tuts on fire Here) Look below for the one i made 3.) Fill bg of empty document with color of choice 4.) write anything 5.) Copy and paste fire on new layer above the text 6.) Press Ctrl+G with the fire layer over the text layer 7.) Go to image ready 8.) Open the animation toolbar, but going to window then animation on the top 9.) Move the fire layer to the very bottom of the text 10.) Duplicate the frame 11.) Move the fire so that the bottom of it is at the bottom of the text 12.) Click on tween 13.) use these settings, change the number of frames to make it go slower of faster 13.) My finished product The fire i used Keep in mind i deleted some of the bottom of the fire and only used the top, use whatever part of it as needed, or experiment with other stuff besides fire.

- Open new document, I used 400 X 300 - Filter>Render>Clouds - Filter>Render>Difference Clouds (get something like this doesnt have to be exact) - Image>Adjustments>Levels (use these settings or your own) - Edit>Free Transform>FlipVertical (if it looks like this) - Image>adjustments>Variations (play with color to make it look like fire) - Select smudge tool from toolbar - Select Brushes in top right - Select this brush, size 39 spatter brush - Use the smudge tool and brush the fire outwards until you get something like this

Apply Filter --> Pixelate --> Mosaic and set the Cell Size to 9 or 10, depending on the size of your text.

Hit CTRL-SHIFT-X to bring up the Liquify dialogue and start modeling the flames. Start with a big brush and reduce the size as you get into the detailed flame modeling.

Somebody asked me to help him come up with a cool graphic for a project he was doing, the theme of which was fires on construction-sites. We sat for ages searching through the stock photo sites trying to find such a picture but had no luck. Of course, there were plenty of pics of construction sites and *loads* of pics of fire, but none of an actual construction site on fire. This got me thinking - why not combine the two to make the picture myself?

Now to give it a really nice effect add a black and white gradient map set to overlay and sharpen the fireball layer.

Now go to Select > Modify > Contract and contract the selection with 15 pixels. Delete the selection. Now you should have a ring-like shape.

Make a new adjustment layer, solid color, but this time give it a red color. From the layers box, change the blend mode to screen, 10%. Finally, you can select the background layer and give it a sharpen filter, where you can play with values until you are satisfied with the results.

Now select the Smudge Tool and choose a fuzz Ball brush around size 30. Now it is time to make the flames. Start smudging from the right to the left and try to nudge the mouse slightly up and down to make it look more like flames. Finish it by smudging from the left to the right, try to get a few grey strokes onto the large white areas.

1. Create a new file. Create a new layer. Draw the Elliptical button and fill it with the color shown in the figure.

Well the process of designing Fire Dragon wallpaper is not full of interesting tips and tricks. It was actually 24 hours of drawing with brushes of different sizes and colors. As always, to start, we need background. Set foreground to dark red, background to black. Select Gradient tool, choose Radial type, fill the document dragging the mouse from bottom to top of image.

This Photoshop video tutorial will teach you how to create great looking fire using only the tools and filters in Photoshop. You will be learning the liquify command, gaussian blur, wind, rotating canvas back and forth, repeating filters, blending modes and more...

Start a new document 600x200 and fill the background with the color you will eventually want to have your fireball on. This technique will not look good if you decide to change the background color later.

That's all there is to it! Make sure you try other colors too (use grey in the same way for smoke). Good luck.

Now created a new layer, hit Ctrl+A to select all, and go to Edit > Stroke and set the color to white and width to 2. Then go to Edit > Stroke again and set the color to black and the width to 1 and its all done. there are a lot of other things you can do to make the signature look better or different, IE: Change the colors, different brushing style or brushing, different blending, check out other tutorials for this kind of information and explore your own style of this signature, I hope you guys can take this tutorial, and make the style your own by adding and subtracting steps.

Now copy some of the fire from your amps and position it over your guitar cable layer. Use a large, soft eraser to erase away all parts of the fire apart from those around the cable itself. Try to create a subtle effect of the flames licking along the cable, reducing in intensity as they get further away from the guitar.

On the fire layer just change the blend mode to Overlay, this will soften the dark parts of the fire and make it appear more realistic.

This effect is very useful for those who love to photograph cigars/cigarettes for a hobby, commercial ads, or just like to play around with smoke/fire type effects.

Other titles I thought of for this Photoshop fire tutorial were "Burning Down the House", "The Roof Is On Fire", and "Fire! Fire! Fire", but then I realized how cliche that would be. I obtained my house photo from PhotoSpin.com.

As You can see - image is a little darker now. Now we will draw some fire. Make New Layer, select soft brush of the size You will choose, and using dark orange colour (for example #993300) make a "dot". Next use a smaller size with lighter colour (like #ff9933) make another dot. Again, smaller size, lighter colour (for example #ffcc66), and last time, smaller size, lighter colour (#ffff66) and dot.

The first thing to do is to create a new document in PhotoShop. For this example, we create a 400x300 black canvas. then We add our text to the canvas, in White:

Today we are going to make the ever-so-popular flames. But this works only for small images: avatars, small signs, etc. Start with a 100x100 document. Background doesn't matter.

3. Use paint brush to paint half of it black, at the edge of the fire, you should set a lower pressure for the paint brush

Add some text, a picture, mess around with the Hue/Saturation. It looks feathery.... kind of. Not really. I'm just crazy. Hope you liked this tutorial.

19. Now select the 1st layer we created and add a Hue/Saturation there too (Filter > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation or Ctrl+U and once again make sure Colorize is checked):

Now you need to add a colour for the both of them. Open up the gradient layer on the fire layer, Mode > Adjustments > Gradient map and set it like this

Now apply Filter>Stylize>Glowing Edges and use these settings aswell: 3) Duplicate the layer and set the new duplicated blending mode to Color Burn: 4) Apply a Filter>Render>Lens flare right in the middle of the bottom layer. Use these settings or modify them to your liking: 5) With the bottom layer still selected press CNTRL+U and use these color settings: Your done, heres my fire ball:

Press "P" on the keyboard to select the pen tool, Get a basic idea of where the fire is going. Keep in mind dimension and action. Swirls do wonders!

Select your fire 1 layer and repeat the steps of using the magic wand tool a few times but each time select a different area. each time name the layers fire 3, fire 4 etc.

Goto Filter > Render> Clouds, then Filter > Render > Difference clouds keep pressing Ctrl+F until you get something that's sort of like fire such as:

Step 3b : Now to add to the final fire furnace! - Press Ctrl + U to bring up the hue/saturation window, and click on a fiery colour of your choice!

8. Then, duplicate layer "background copy" , mode = Screen , duplicate "background copy" again, Rotate 180 degree, mode = Screen too

7. Now on the copy layer. Select the ERASE TOOL and brush size 200. Then delete the brightest spot of the fire.

5. Let's make it look like a fire, so click on the top layer then click on the triangle next to the paths tab in the layers palette and select Merge Down. Then go to Image > Adjustments > Equalize. To get the fire effect go to Filter > Render > Lighting Effects. Use the settings in the image below.

7. Now is time to colorize the fires, click on this button (at the bottom of layer panel), select gradient map, you'll see a dialog window like this.

Last filter we got to apply is the twirl, this will give it a nice spinning feel. Filter > Distort > Twirl.

35. With the fireball layer selected, go into the Layer Styles ( ), and add an Inner Glow any size, with the colour #FFC600. Add an Outer Glow also with the colour #FFC600.

This tutorial teaches you how to use Photoshop to add realistic-looking fire to any stock or text (I used a rabbit). This produces the best fire effect out of any other video that I have seen. I used a combination of both video and text so it is easy to follow and understand, although a basic understanding of photoshop is required.

This is a variation of the common fire tutorial. Start out by creating a new document with black background. The image mode should be RGB. Write your text in white. Your have to have some space for the text to rotate it.

Apply Filter --> Pixelate --> Mosaic and set the Cell Size to 9 or 10, depending on the size of your text.

In this tutorial, you will learn to create a nice looking Fire Text effect. Final output of the tutorial can be seen below :

Next, we want to Rasterize the text layer so we can modify it. Right-click the text layer and choose Rasterize Type or Rasterize Layer. Next, goto Filter > Stylize > Wind, and choose Wind, From the Left. Once applied, press Ctrl+F to repeat. Then goto Filter > Stylize > Wind again and choose From the Right. Press Ctrl+F to repeat. You should have something like this:

Now finally lets see if we can get the fire to look more convicting. Go to filter and then select Liquify and just drag the flames up, make sure you use the Liquify tool on the fire layer not the normal text layer. Play around with styles till your happy. Here's my end result:

Start with a 300 x 300 document, but before we continue make sure you are have seen the tutorial Fire Text I as this tutorial is a tweaked version of Fire Text I

1. Create a new square file in Adobe Photoshop with black background. Type some text on it and hit right Enter on the keyboard. Switch it's mode to grayscale: Image-Mode-Grayscale.

In this tutorial you will learn how to create a text effect that works great for dark, almost gothic looking text effect. You have seen this effect used all over the place on Halloween brochures for haunted houses, and even a few movie posters.

First u make a new 640x480 image with black background name it Fire. Type Fire in the middle of the layer with white text ( better with big letters) . go to image menu > Rotate canvas > 90cw

I hope you enjoyed reading this tutorial and I also hope you learned not only about making a nifty fire effect on text, but about things such as the pen tool and a layer mask. Thank you.

- Use the type tool and create a new text in WHITE and position the text centered in the lower half of the document.

14) Now we Duplicate the Text layer (look up the steps if u forget how to duplicate). Drage this layer copy above the fire layer. We need to fill it with black. Press Alt+Delete to fill with the forground color BLACK.

1. Create a new document, change its mode to grey-scale, and type your text in black. Merge the text layer with the background.

Step 5. Then... Then nothing. That's it, if you have done it right here's something it should look like. This background is awesome to use on nearly any type of sig. It really looks awesome! I hope yours looked like this if not please ask questions.

This tutorial will show you how to place a fire on someone???s hands. With those settings in photoshop, draw some sparks over our fire (on New Layer). Lower the Opacity of this layer. Use orange colour picked from our fireball (just improvise).

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create realistic-looking fire and flame effects that you can add to any image. Perfect as Halloween is just around the corner (well, sorta!).

Flames are particularly hard to render in Photoshop, but in this tutorial I'll show you how to use a photograph of fire to set text to the match. We'll render the look on a nice dark background with a gorgeous text effect to complete the image.

8. Then, duplicate layer "background copy" , mode = Screen , duplicate "background copy" again, Rotate 180 degree, mode = Screen too

Hit CTRL-SHIFT-X to bring up the Liquify dialogue and start modeling the flames. Start with a big brush and reduce the size as you get into the detailed flame modeling.

First, we have to chose a photo for our future work. I've picked one from sxc.hu and You can download it from this url http://www.sxc.hu/photo/891765 (You have to register first - it's FREE and realy worth of it). When You open Your photo in Photoshop make first step: Image -> Adjustments -> Desaturate (Shift + Ctrl + U). That will be our base image (I'll resize it to 450x600 px for presentation - You may work with larger image if You want or just use this bellow if You don't want to register on sxc.hu).

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create realistic-looking fire and flame effects that you can add to any image. Perfect as Halloween is just around the corner (well, sorta!). Part 1: Step 1

6) Now on the copy layer. Select the ERASE TOOL and brush size 200. Then delete the brightest spot of the fire.

To place the fire over other backgrounds, merge your fire with black background onto one layer. Then put your background image on a layer underneath. Finally, target the fire layer and set the mode from Normal to Screen. Screen stacks the light stuff from the fire layer onto the background image but ignores the dark stuff. To keep the text black I would predict that I would need the black text as a separate layer. So I would merge the fire in front of the text into one layer, merge the fire in back of the text onto one layer, set both fire layers to Screen and replace the background. If you are looking for more fire intensity against a light background try the Lighten mode instead. It will hold more "fire" against lightness but the edges will carry some unwanted density sometimes. If you have this edge problem try going to Blending options for the fire layer by double-clicking it and then splitting the black "This Layer" slider by pressing the option/alt key and dragging it right. This will fade the edge transition. You may need to drag the right slider "ear" all the way over to 255. Also try duplicating the layer when it is set to Screen to intensify the effect.

CGIndia bring you quite Useful and Free tutorial for adobe Photoshop Users. The tutorials is created by CG Artist shailesh pahuja who shows us; How to easily create Digital Matte Painting using Adobe Photoshop. If you like to share your knowledge with CG Community and have any tutorials, we will be glad to feature them on our website along with description about author and website link. Send your tutorials to [email protected] The Making Fire Energy In This Photoshop tutorial, I will try to explain how to create a simple digital Matte Painting. Although i have used Photoshop for this tutorial, you may use the same process in any other graphic software like Paintshop etc. This is quite easy tutorial to learn, but a basic know-how of Photoshop (or equivalent software) is required. I made this tutorial on request of my friend, who wanted to learn digital Matte painting. Hope you guys find it useful...Lets begin; Lets start with a new document of size 1264x550 pixels. The first step, I do is to put a background color as the base color (Black for this scene). Then I choose Dodge, sharpen and brush as my tools. I have some great brushes, which I downloaded from Natascha Roeoesli website (www.tascha,ch) and I used three of it in this image, But my base brush is the round brush, one with opacity controlled by pen and the another with 100% opacity. I Start to put more light bounces, defining the shapes and the sketch of the main character. I use some low opacity brushes for the far trees, as showen in the images below. Tip: if your image got the basic sillout but its darker then, use Image drop down menu + apply image + choose blending = screen and opacity according to; how dark is your image? More defining of objects and I use some of the Natascha brushes for leaves and little trees. add some more leaves using Natascha Photoshop brushes and work on detailing individual objects. Keep Depth of the Field in mind while adding details on far object,.. Use blur filter if necessary. Use the Smudge tool for making the fire more fluid, as showen in Image below.

First of all use a soft brush set at about size 150, and make a white blob in the middle of a black canvas.

In the left part of the dialog box there is a preview window. In this window you can see preliminary rough fire results. In the right part of dialog box there are settings of a fire process in the tabbed dialog. You can select a tab and choose form the available options.

First we'll isolate the house by selecting it and putting it on it's own layer [Ctrl + J]. Hide the background layer and open your Channels palette [Window > Channels].

The first thing to do is to create a new document in PhotoShop. For this example, we create a 400x300 black canvas. then We add our text to the canvas, in White:

Step 5: Go to Filter> Distort> Polar coordinates and use these settings:

Step 1: Let's start.

We start off by creating a blank canvas, size depends on how big you want the fire to be. Once this is done fill the background with black (#000000)

Introduction.

This is a picture showing what you will be able to do with text after you go through this tutorial, its very easy and you'll be done really quick, just imagine you can use the same effects on objects and stuff:

November, 2008

April, 2009

Duplicate your text file by choosing Layer > Duplicate Layer. Then hide the layer you have duplicated, we will come back to that later. As for the text layer that's still there, we need to rasterize it so we can run some filters. Right click on the text with the text tool and choose "rasterize."

i figured i'd post some links to the best fire pics i could find for free. there were Four good ones including the one you posted that was free.

Mail (will not be published) (required)

I really like the idea and the result. The type in the clouds is great and the rain looks good in this image.

hopefully constructive critics: I dont like the way the light comes around. the clouds seemed to get there light from the upper left. there should be some changes in there (i did it the other way around. looks quite better, espacially the rock).

Step 2: Go to Filter> Render> Difference Clouds and press Ctrl+F one time. Apply some lens flares, go to Filter>Render>Lens Flare and apply the following setting:

All we need is a picture of a basketball player jamming it down and a couple pictures of abstract lighting effects and fractal designs. Ctrl+A to select all and Ctrl+C to copy the light graphic. Go to the basketball player pic and Ctrl+P to paste. Repeat this with the other graphic and you should now have 3 layers.
