Go back to the layers panel, create a new layer on top of the britney spears layer, hold down ctrl + shift and hit i to invert the selection.

And there you have it: advanced glow effects with a cool color blend and subtle smoky background combined make for a pretty great effect.

1. Create a new document and then create a new layer and fill it with whatever colour you want(I used black because the contrast is more obvious) and enter a text.

Choose the photo that you want to use for the Glowing Plastic Wall Photo Montage, try to find one with a solid background color like ours, the effect will look much better and the process will be much easier, keep in mind that the final result will depend on the Background color, so try to find a light/brilliant one like ours.

And DONE! your buttons it's finally done, now repeat the Text steps with the other three ones and you will get your Rounded And Glowing Menu.

Author: Globator Making cool glowing text in Photoshop. Great for headers and logos. This time we will create a glowing text effect:

Title: Angel Glow Description: This is a unique tutorial that teaches you to add a very warm glow to each image, making it suitable for professional prints and much more.

In this not so difficult step-by-step tutorial I will show you how to create really sharp-looking glowing woman silhouette. Actually, in this way you can create glowing silhouette of any object.

This time I'll show you how to create a glowing planet design. You'll learn how to create a planet from a panoramic picture, use the Lens Correction Filter, create complex background patterns, and more.

After creating the white to transparent gradient, (make sure that gradient layer is only selected)holding down ctrl key click on the thumbnail of the first text layer. (For ex : http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_MDxhVbQjmxE/SWjXyo_p26I/AAAAAAAAAUg/PvyVuL3cfqc/s1600-h/difflayerstext.jpg you can see layer window. In this image you have 'l' as first layer. You can see a thumbnail that denotes T. You have to ctrl click the thumbnail of the layer, not the layer itself). You can now see the text is selected. Now press Ctrl+C to copy and then Ctrl+V to paste. A new layer will be created. What actually happens is that, you have the gradient layer selected and copying and pasting the shape of text, so you get a text with gradient effect. If you want to view the gradient text you have to hide the original text. No it doesn't have anything to do with copy layer style. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Creating Black and whites is a great way to simplify or shift focus in a photo. You have seen great black and white photos out there in Magazines and in galleries on the web, Black and whites are everywhere. We will learn just how to make great black and whites in a matter of minutes. We will start with the basic Desaturation of an image, learn why that is not-such-a-good way to create black and whites, and experiment with several different methods before settling with the best black and white conversion. After the conversion we will look at vignetting, tweaking the channels, and subtle image toning. All of that plus the usual load of little tips and tricks will all be in this video, watch, learn, enjoy! | More...

Every time you use a layer adjustment, check (v) -use previous layer to create clipping mask- In other steps, when we change the color or the levels, we always create a clipping mask. I used +20 for brightness and contrast, but it differs for every photo, so play a bit with the settings till you are happy about it.

I've had a look at the tutorial again to see if I made a mistake as some visitors had some problems with the tutorial. And yes I forgot to mention that you need to set the "Set the anti-aliasing method" to Smooth before you type the text. Smooth makes the text slimmer than the other options. I also added a few screenshots and made some small changed. I hope it helps. If not please let me know.

In our Photoshop Tutorial, we will create a Glowing Neon Girl from scratch. Throughout this tutorial, you will simply learn how to make some cool Glowing Effects in Photoshop. This is quite a little long so patience is a virtue.Take a look at the Preview of our Final Image.

In this Photoshop tutorial we'll be experimenting with layers and styles to create a cool glowing orb and dial effect. This tutorial is written with an intermediate to advanced user in mind but I think anyone who knows their way around Photoshop shouldn't have a problem reproducing this effect.

Lets first start by drawing a nice curvy path with the pen tool that we'll use as our main wrapping glow line. In the Paths palette be sure to rename the path so you don't loose it when we create a new one.

Glow and Lightning effects may be fun. You have to improvise, and experiment. Somethimes it will take hours until You will get what You want. You may se my finished work bellow.

Duplicate 'glow-temp' layer. Go back to Layers palette. Press Ctrl-J to duplicate 'temp' layer. Only selected areas will be copied to the new layer. Rename new layer to 'Glow'. Set it's blending mode to Lighten.

Now select again the "eye" next to the picture so that you can see both the painted body and the car.

Choose the photo that you want to use for the Glowing Plastic Wall Photo Montage, try to find one with a solid background color like ours, the effect will look much better and the process will be much easier, keep in mind that the final result will depend on the Background color, so try to find a light/brilliant one like ours.

Now here is where you can adjust the amount of highlights you want to add. Remember if you used a different image you may want the adjust the settings below to fit your image.

Here's a unique way to add a contempory design to your photographs. Create areas around highlights that glows in the shape of a square.

You can also duplicate the orb and blur it to give it a nice outer glow. That way, you can make multiple glows..

1. Create a new 500x500 pixel document with a background contents of 'transparent', and name it Glow Waves. Now press D and then X and fill the document (with white). Name this layer 'background'. Next, create a new layer and name it 'waves'. Now select the gradient tool and at the top of the screen select reflected gradient. Now press D to set black as your foreground color, then select foreground-to-transparent gradient type. Then click and drag on your document to apply the gradients however you wish. Different thicknesses of gradients create different outcomes. I dragged my gradient tool at different angles anywhere from 1+ centimeter to 1+ inch or less.

4.Set your " Dodge " layer's mode to " Color Dodge " You will end up with what I call the " dodge-glow effect ".

Alright, i have been asked this question many times nowadays, 'How do you get that glassy effect on your work?' And my answer to that question is this tutorial :P. I hope it teaches you guys a lot and help you guys get creative with your work.

1. Create a new 500x500 pixel document and name it Glow Waves. Now press D and then select the gradient tool. Then select linear gradient. Also in the top bar, set the mode to 'Difference'. Now press D to set black as your foreground color, then click and drag multiple times. Keep click and dragging the gradient tool until you get your desired look.

07. Duplicate the glowing cross layer again and add a 20px Outer Glow. Place this layer below the second glowing cross layer.

4. Make sure you have white color as foreground color and black color as background color. To get this just press key "D" and then key "X" to inverse colors. This is because some effects like Neon Glow depend of these settings.

5. Now, using a medium sized dodge brush (25px should be fine), brush along the top and bottom of your button. Try to brush a little extra on the left and right corners to give it a better glowing effect:

Hey hey, we are going to create a cool Rounded and Glowing Menu today, pretty easy and simple with and awesome result.

Sorry - but Tutorials4Photoshop is moving to a new domain and we are switching the tutorials over. All the tutorials should be back within the next couple of days so bear with us. Thanks

It's almost OK, but I want to add some lightning to this image. Create new layer, set black as your foreground, white as your background color, and go to Filter > Render > Clouds. Again add gradient layer (we made this before on step 2) and use standard photoshop gradient called Transparent Rainbow. Add Layer mask to clouds layer, and fill this mask with black (clouds should disappear). Change clouds layer blending mode to Color Dodge. Now the fun begins - grab soft brush, and using white color paint there, where You think the lights should be. Free Your imagination and play with brush size and opacity.

In this Photoshop tutorial you will see how to make an abstract effect that I would like to call the 3 glowing eggs.

The first step is to take the image in which you want to give a soft glow and duplicate that layer by pressing Ctrl J. Then select the entire layer either by using the rectangular marquee tool or by pressing Ctrl A and after that copy that layer by going to Edit > Copy or by perssing Ctrl C

Go to "Layer > Rasterize > Type". Now our "G" is no longer a text and we can work with it freely. Next step, "Edit > Trasnform > Perspective". Hold "Shift" and move the left bottom control point to left as I did. Press "Enter" to apply the changes.

Intensify photos with vivid colors in just a few simple steps! This Photoshop effect is perfect for fun vacation photos and is easy for novice Photoshop users.

Glowing effects are getting used more and more now and they look awesome when done well so I've compiled a list of the best tutorials showing you how to achieve these effects. All these Photoshop tutorials give you great results and a good explanation of how to get there. I've included 25 so it should keep you busy for a while anyway!

@ parischausex.. Adding the brightness/contrast layer in step 4 will give you that black effect on the image. Adjust the settings there until you get something dark =)

This will be a short and simple tutorial for photo edit. I try this during my lunch time yesterday and find it is quite interesting. So, I wish to share with you guys too. This is best for those who like photo with glow effect or a little fantasy effects. Well, check this out.

Glow Effect 1, In order to add a little flair to the glow, you should prepare the background if possible. To do this, I used filter|render|lighting effects with a single omni light in the middle. This will darken the edges. 2, Render your text or your graphic in a new layer above the background. Choose a nice contrasting color for your graphic to enhance the glow. I used the same color as the background. this will change later. 3, Now add a new layer between the background and the graphic layer. Ctrl-click the graphic layer to load the text or design as a selection. Now go to select|feather, I used a radius of 10, but this depends on the size of the graphic. Normally it will be much more. Dont worry if the edges aren't visible. Now select a color for your foreground. I used red. Press alt+backspace to fill the feathered area. Do this a number of times. I did it 4 times. 4, Now add a new layer above this one and repeat the steps. This time feather the selections less, only fill it a few times, and use a contrasting color. I feathered the selection 5, use a yellow color and filled it twice. 5, One last time, add a new layer, select your graphic. This time I feathered the selection only 2, and filled it once with white. Now we could leave it like this and it looks okay. There are a couple of things you can do to make the effect stronger though. 6, If you just de-activate the graphic layer it gives an interesting 'hot' looking effect as such. 7, To achieve this look, change the blending mode of all the layers to screen, change the blending mode of the layer with the text or graphic on it to color burn. Then use filter|blur|gaussian blur with a small radius to smooth it out a bit.

1. Start by selecting the brush tool, select the color white, then go to the custom brush panel, (default located at the top right corner). Give it a brush tip shape as in the image below.

Press control+j to duplicate and create a new layer from the selected part of the image. Set the layer style to Screen. Finally, apply curves as shown:

This time I will commit myself and try to expose an nice illustration technique in a few steps instead of the usual massive explanations I love to write. This tutorial explains how to create some glowing lights brushes using the Lens Flair filter that comes in the default installation of Adobe Photoshop CS2 and previous versions.

The following the steps will teach you how to give a glow effect to an image:

1) Create a new image 400300 with white background.

Now lets add something to inlay your text into. Create a new layer below your text layer and make another gradient. Make sure that the direction of light to dark is opposite of the gradient in your background.

STEP 2: Type your Text. We use a yellow color.

While holding down CTRL, click the text layer to select it.

it is always good to keep a copy of the original image in a layer.

Pen Tool - Use this tool to draw the curve in the first place. You can click and drag to create curves on the fly. Don't worry if the curve is not perfect, you can modify it later.

Step 2: Go to Filter > Blur > Radial Blur and use these settings

Here is some of the elements a web 2.0 graphic can contain (note I dont say must contain) some glossiness, sleek curved lines or just a unique design.

Open the rendering that you want to edit in photoshop and make a copy of the layer.

We are going to create a gradient, to create a gradient click on the Gradient Tool.

Use the Marquee Tool and select a part of the bright area, then bring that selection into a new layer (Ctrl + J). Bring it over to the left edge and fit it in the corner. (If you use Ctrl + T to transform the layer, then control and move the corners of the box it will skew them to get a better fit.)

1-I have not the same resulat as in step 4.

Next we're going to stroke the line. Select the brush tool and select a solid circle brush and set the size to 3-4 px. Now click back over to the Line Tool and right click (alt click for Mac users) select "Stroke Line". In the new dialog box set it to brush and check the "Simulate Pressure" option.

a. Now make a new layer. I chose to make a letter, but you can make an aura around any shape you want. Anyway make the letter, word or shape you want on this layer. Whatever shape you choose to make, make sure its black.

Just a little tip - when you are done with paths and this effect, and you want to draw shapes, make sure you select the first of the three squares, or 'Shape Layers' and not 'Paths'. Obviously we can keep 'Paths' on for now because we need this option.
