Step 4: Press Ctrl-I to invert your text layer. Go to Filter > Artistic > Plastic Warp. Just use the default settings (Highlight Strength 20, Detail 13, Smoothness 12). Press Ctrl-F to repeat this effect. After this step, we get:

Next, go to the main menu and choose "Select" then "Inverse". Delete the text layer in the Layers Palette so there is again only the background layer. Now hit "Delete" on the keyboard to rid the outer portion of the text selection. Create a new layer, fill with Black and put beneath the Magma layer in the Layers Palette.

Start out with a new file, set your foreground color to white and background color to black. Choose Filter > Render > Clouds. Then choose Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap. Use the default settings.
