If you ever wanted to learn how to create a cardboard like material or a drywall texture then you are at right place. Learn how to make a Cardboard Texture or drywall surface using photoshop cs2 for free.

This tutorial will tech you how to make nice stone walls easily and quickly. If you want to follow it, you should know some of the next things:

Click once on the thumbnail of the Wall Background layer to make it the active layer. Click on the Create a new fill or adjustment layer icon of the layers palette and select Brightness/Contrast... Enter the value -80 for Brightness and the value -50 for Contrast and click on OK:

9. Now the final touch is using the smudge tool with strength at about 70, to drag some different places in the heart and down so it looks like the painting is running down the brick wall texture.

In our room image document, let's goto Filter > Vanishing Point. Notice the tools on the left - we need to first create a Plane. The plane will represent the perspective of what we want to work on. We draw a plane by clicking four corners. We will use the picture on the wall as a guide (we can zoom in with Ctrl+ and zoom out with Ctrl-):

now save the image at step 4 on your pc and open it at photoshop with the brick image you cropped at step 3: 1. Select the Magic Wand Tool 2. Set torelance to 42 and click on the black border of "Smash" just one click untill you obtain the selection as shown below.. 3. Right click on the selection and select layer via copy... 4. hold down ctrl and drag the selection to the brick image as shown...it will be named as layer 1 on the layers window...

In this tutorial, we will be using a Displacement Map filter to paint a mountain scene on a rock wall. The first step is to create the displacement map. A displacement map 'maps' the shadows and highlights of an uneven surface and applies that 'map' to the image painted on the wall. This creates the illusion of depth, of paint disappearing into the cracks and shadows. Very realistic effect, and easy. Find an uneven, cracked, or otherwise marred surface to paint your image on. I picked a fairly even surfaced rock wall, with good contrast between light and dark. Some ideas are brick walls, sidewalks, storefronts, windows, vehicles, faces.... anything that can have an image warped over it should be okay to use. When you find that perfect photo, leave it rgb and go to adjustments, desaturate. After desaturate, I find it helpful to up the contrast almost to the point of too much. Remember, it's only going to be used as a pattern for the image to warp around. The shadows in the displacement map image are the key to distortion, so need to have high contrast. If you do not have enough contrast and try to use the image as a displacement map, it won't even recognize it properly. In that case, simply open the displacement file and up the contrast. Let's move on....

4. The Underpainting filter setting : Brush size = 40, Texture Coverage = 40, texture = brick, scaling = 200%, Relief = 18, Light = Top and then click ok.

For the shadow we use the brush tool with a 32px soft brush. In a new layer brush a black spot below your robot mascot. Then go to Edit > Transform > Perspective, when the transform points appear on your black spot drag the bottom left points so the black spot expands. Finish it off by setting the black spot layer's opacity level to 20%.

This tutorial shows how create a photorealistic picture of Eve the girlfriend of the famous wall-e character of the latest Disney and Pixar Movie.
