In This quick tip we show you how to make a quick text reflection with the transform tool and some feathering. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
This tutorial will show you step by step how to create a reflection effect on a piece of text. The same technique can be applied to other things such as images too.
6)Now, on the duplicated layer, go to Edit>Tranform>Flip Vertical and align the flipped text so that its touching the bottom of the original text like this:
Now, always on the reflection layer, pick the move tool, then, press the Down arrow on your keyboard several times until you have it just 1 or 2 pixel far from the upper text.
3) Now you can apply the layer mask on to it to make it look like a reflection. You can also apply the same effect for the shadow by repeating steps 1 through 8. You should have something like this after rasterizing the text reflection layer, and creating a shadow layer just like I did above. Note: You might have to play with the shadow a bit so that you get a desirable result. Here's how I did it
3. Create a new layer, on this layer use the eliptical marquee tool to draw a circle over your text as pictured. Use the 'Paint Bucket Tool' to fill this ellipse with the same color as your background - in my example white (#ffffff).
3. Type your text using the "Horizontal Type Tool" and type your text. We are using the (Futura Lt BT) text, a text size of "48" pixels and "Sharp" anti-aliasing.
Hit OK button and you're finished with your web 2.0 text. Our next step is to add reflection to this text. 7. Copy your text layer. Go to Edit -> Transform -> Flip Vertical. You should have something like this now.
In this Photoshop text effects tutorial, we're going to create a simple text reflection effect. This effect has been used everywhere in advertising, and as we'll see, it's very easy to do.
