Step 2 Here comes the fun part. Rasterize the text layer (right click and go to Rasterize Layer). Go to Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates and choose Polar to Rectangular option. Then go to Filter>Stylize>Wind. Apply the effects several times from left and from right in the method "Wind".

Welcome to another one of my tutorials. Today we will be making a Shadow, like from a western style movie, how they stand in front of the sun and it makes them look cool......

Use your text tool to type something. I typed Text . Duplicate the layer. Click Edit->Transform->Flip Vertical . Click Rasterize Layer on the vertically inverted layer. Drag the text right below the normal text. Lower the layer opacity to 60% .

We need plenty of room to cast our shadow. We will create a duplicate of the text layer by right-clicking and choosing Duplicate Layer, or dragging the layer onto the New Layer button. Now with this duplicated layer, we will first Rasterize it (right-click and then choose Rasterize Type). Now we goto Edit > Transform > Skew. We should be able to drag the top of the rasterized text across to the right, so it looks like this (the original text layer is hidden):

6. Move the top bit of the text to the left. By pressing and holding the left mouse button on the top left corner and dragging to the left, then repeat for the right hand side. Press the Tick at the top right of the screen or press Return.
