Step 1: Open your image in Photoshop, choose any image you like. The pictures I'll be using for this tutorial can be found here, and here.

Press Ctrl+J and Ctrl+T. Move a few pixels down. Now keep pressing Ctrl+J and Ctrl+Shift+T several times to create the design as shown. Select each layer and change it's color.

To create a puzzle image is not so hard. We will displace a series of slices that composes a picture. Open your image in Adobe Photoshop and check for the size (Image ???> Image Size??? ???> Cancel [press cancel to go out without any changes]), then go to File ???> New and insert the same size but adding 100px by height and by width; set a transparent background. e.g: picture size 800??533, new document size:

I make no excuses for my drawing skills, they suk, but this is just to illustrate a point. The red colour is on the bottom layer, with a green-ink'd layer between it and the black outlines. I can't stay inside the lines when I colour in, but you can see a total lack of red or green outside of the lines. You could put photos, textures, patterns, whatever on these layers, and then crop to the black outlines. All sorts of things are possible.

We all know that you have always wanted to cut out your own PSDs instead of downloading them, now you can cut your own!

Now, we all know, to cut pictures out, we use the pen, eraser or lasso tools. but.... when cutting fur or any other thing like that. we use another technique.

To copy our selection use the Edit > Copy or press Ctrl C command then paste our selection Edit > Paste or Ctrl V. Try using the short cuts as they are much quicker. We find that Photoshop has pasted in our selection as a new layer. Repeat this process until we have copied all the sections in our grid - but make sure when copying a selection we are working on our background layer.

Another effective tutorial showing us how to create this great effect using an alpha mask in the channels pallet. Nick at www.2gen.net was kind enough to show me this tip last night, so Thanks You! to him for the tip and now ill show you how its done.

Learn a quick and dirty way to extract an image from its background. This technique doesn't work on all images, but it is definitely interesting.

We want to use the vector mask on our photo; masks are non-destructive forms of editing. They don't destroy the original photo, they just hide parts of it.

Press Ctrl+J to copy paste the selection in a new layer. Hide the layer. Select the original layer and clone the head and face area using clone stamp tool.

This video tutorial will show you how to easily cut out someone out of a picture in Adobe Photoshop CS3 using magic wand and polygonal lasso tool.

The most important thing to master in Photoshop is how to perform perfect cut/paste operations. You may want to try effects, or illustration, a great pic is always simple, and CLEAN. No blurry edges.

Once all the points are together, it should be just a outline. Ok after you've done that go to windows and click on paths. Once your there right click, and press selection.

Do the same for the front and top views and SAVE em!!!. You now have three images ready for use in a 3D modelling program. Hope you found this tutorial useful!!

Taking things from one image and putting them into another image is one of the basic concepts that one needs to master if one is to continue down the path to Photoshop Guruhood. I'll go step by step through this process and perhaps you'll pick up a few tips along the way.

2. go to filter > artistic > cut out and apply these settings or just play around untill you get the effect you like

Insert another image of a car. Change the layer mode to "luminosity". Move this layer below the gray curved shape layer in layer order in layer palette.

Press ctrl + O, to open a new picture, and load the picture you want to use. You will see only one layer, called Background. Click and drag that layer to our document. Press ctrl + T to resize the picture if u need it. Now we have to cut the picture in many pieces. The best way to do it is to use guides, so we will cut it exactly how we want. To add a guide is simple, just click and hold the vertical or horizontal rule, drag the mouse, u will se a line that is a new guide, then place the guide where u want to. If you don’t see rules the go to View -> Rules, and I you don’t see guides go to View -> Show -> Guides. Here is what I’ve got:

1. Open Photoshop and create a new document. Mine is 400px by 400px. I have also changed my background colour but you dont have to do this. 2. Select the custom shape tool. At the top of Photoshop click on the small down arrow next to the shape box. You should then see a selection of shapes. On the right hand side of the box which pops up click on the small arrow pointing right. Then select TalkBubbles and click OK. 3. Click on the following shape. 4. At the top on the left make sure that the "Paths" icon is selected (middle out of the three). Now simply click and drag on your document so that you create a talk bubble shape. 5. Go to Window >> Paths. In the paths window you should then see a path called Work Path. Hold down control on your keyboard and click on it. Now create a new layer by going to Layer >> New >> Layer and call it "bubble". Using the paint bucket tool fill in the selected area with #FFFFFF (white). 6. Right click on your bubble layer and select Duplicate Layer. Call the layer "bubble2". Then go to Edit >> Transform >> Flip Horizontal. Then drag the new bubble into place as shown here. They should overlap each other. 7. Now go to the paths window again. Hold down Ctrl and click on the Work Path again. Simply drag this work path over the top of your first bubble (furthest left one). Make sure it is on it exactly. Then go to Select >> Modify >> Expand. Type in 5px and click OK. Make sure that your bubble 2 layer is selected and then press delete on your keyboard. You should end up with this. 8. Now right click on your bubble layer and go to Blending Options. On the left hand side select Stroke and use the following settings. 9. On the left select Drop Shadow and use the following settings. 10. Select Gradient Overlay and use the following settings. 11. Click OK. Now right click on your bubble layer and select Copy Layer Style. Now right click on your bubble2 layer and select Paste Layer Style. You should then have something like this. 12. Here I have added some text. This is my final result.

This tutorial will show you how to create a basic logo for your web site or company. 1. Create a new document in Photoshop 350px by 350px. Use the fill tool and set the background colour to #1a1923. 2. Using the Eliptical marquee tool draw a circle on your page, slightly to the left. Create a new layer by going to Layer >> New Layer and call it "circle". Then using the fill tool fill the circle in with white. 3. Now select the Eliptical marquee tool again and at the top of Photoshop set the Style to fixed. Then set the width and height to 300px. 4. Now click on your page and make the selection as follows. 5. Then hold down Alt on your keyboard and then click and drag the selected circle to make the following moon like shape. When you release the mouse button it should deselect most of your original circle and leave you with a moon shape. 6. Now using the rectangular marquee tool hold down alt and deselect everything but the white circle. You should end up with the following selection. 7. Create a new layer and call it "cover". Now fill it in with white using the fill tool. Right click on your "circle" layer and go to blending options. Then select stroke and give it the following. 8. Then select gradient overlay on the left and use the following settings. The gradients left colour is #9799ee and the right colour is #492774. 9. Click OK. You should now have the following. 10. Right click on your "cover" layer and then select stroke. Give it the following settings. 11. Select gradient overlay from the left and use the following settings. The gradient goes from #ffff00 to #ffa000. 12. Click OK. Your image should now look something like this. 13. Now select the text tool and click on the right of your logo. From the Character window (Window >> Character) pick a font of your choice. Im using "Berlin Sans FB" with white text. Then just type in the name of your web site/company. 14. Again using the text tool click just beneath your web site/company name and type in a slogan. I recommend doing this in capital letters. 15. Right click on your first text layer (web site/company name) and go to blending options. Then select gradient overlay and use the following settings. The gradient goes from black to white. 16. Click OK. You should then end up with something similar to the following. And thats it - finished.

This is a great thing to start off with when just beginning to draw things in Photoshop but it is also quite a nice graphic to create. 1) Open Photoshop and create a new document 400px by 400px 2) Use the marquee tool and select a circle in the center almost filling your page 3) Use the fill tool and fill it in with grey. You should now have the following: 4) Select the Custom Shape Tool from the tools window (or press U). At the top of Photoshop click on the Shape drop down and select athe pentagon. Also make sure that it is set to path on the upper left: 5) Now hold down Shift and create a pentagon on your circle. Dont make it too small and dont make it too big. 6) Then go to Window >> Paths. Hold down Ctrl and single click on the work path. Create a new layer by going to Layer >> New Layer and call it pentagon. Then use the paint bucket tool and fill the selected area with white. 7) Right click on the pentagon layer and select Duplicate Layer. Click OK. 8) Ctrl + click on the new layer you just created. Now fill in the selected area with black using the paint bucket tool. 9) You now have a black and white pentagon each on seperate layers. Now all you have to do is keep duplicating the layers and putting them in the right place. The easiest way to understand the order of a footballs patches is this: a black is surrounded by whites. 10) After doing that you should have the following: 11) Now click on one of your pentagon layers. Then press Ctrl + E. This merges the layers together. Do this until all of your pentagons are in one layer. 12) Ctrl + click on your circle layer. Go to Select >> Inverse. Click on your pentagon layer and press Delete on your keyboard. 13) Right click on your circle layer and go to Blending options. On the left hand side click on Drop Shadow. Then set the following settings: 14) Click OK. Heres my final result:

1. Start of by creating new document. Mine is 400px by 400px. Then using the eliptical marquee tool make a circle selection in the middle of your page. Create a new layer called "head" by going to Layer >> New Layer and then using the Paint Bucket tool fill in the selected area with #655130. 2. Now again using the marquee tool select a wider circle which isnt as high and locate it just below your first circle. Then use the fill took and fill it in with the same colour on the same layer. 3. Use the eliptical tool again and select another circle within the filled area towards the bottom of it. Make sure to leave an equal gap around the bottom and sides of it. Create a new layer called "mouth" and fill it in with #955d24. 4. Select a fairly small circle towards the top left but still connected. Create a new layer and call it "ears". Fill in the selection with #955d24. Do this again on the right hand side. Now on the Layers window click and drag the ears layer so it is beneath the head and mouth layers. 5. Right-click on your head layer and go to Blending Options. On the left hand side select Stroke and use the following settings. 6. Click OK. Right click on your ears layer and again go to Blending Options. Select Stroke on the left and give it the following settings. 7. Use the eliptical tool and on the left ear click and make a selection which is slightly smaller than the ear (not including the black outline). Now hold down Alt and again make a selection but this time put it over your selected circle to make a moon like shape. Create a new layer and call it "leftear". Now fill in the selected moon-like shape with #c78122. Right click on the leftear shape and select Duplicate. Rename it to "rightear" and click OK. Then go to Edit >> Transform >> Flip Horizontal. Using the pointer tool drag this new shape over to the right ear and position it inside. 8. Now using the eliptical tool select a circle which is slightly within the mouth shape. Create a new layer and call it "mouthhighlight". Now again using the eliptical marquee tool hold down Alt and make a moon like shape. Fill the selection in with #c78122. Now change the opacity of this layer to 30%. 9. Use the eliptical marquee tool and make a selection for an eye. Create a new layer called "eyes" and fill it in with #FFFFFF (white). Make another selection for the second eye and again fill it in with #FFFFFF. 10. Make another circle selection within one of the eyes - slightly smaller. Create a new layer call "...

Radial blurs are a great effect available in Photoshop. It does what it says, allowing you to blur a part of the image. There are two types of radial blurs in photoshop, zoom and spinning. The zoom blur has the effect of zooming into the image making the outside of the image look, well.... blurred. The spinning blur spins the image to give the blur effect. These effects can be achieved with a normal camera when taking a photo but to make things easier lets just do it in Photoshop. Spinning Blur 1) Find a photo and open it in Photoshop. Im using the following image: 2) Go to Filter >> Blur >> Radial Blur. The following window will then be shown: 3) Use the following settings. Make sure that Spin is selected for the Blur Method. 4) Click OK. You should then have something similar to the following: Zoom Blur 1) Find a photo and open it in Photoshop. Im using the following image just like before 2) Go to Filter >> Blur >> Radial Blur. The following window will then be shown: 3) Use the following settings. Make sure that Zoom is selected for the Blur Method. 4) Click OK. You should then have something similar to the following: And thats it. Simple!

An easy tutorial to create a sketch effect on any picture you want, perfect for beginners to intermediate Adobe Photoshop users. 1. First open the image you want to use, for example i have used an image of myself. 2. Duplicate the image/photo layer (i have called mine copy 1). 3. Selcect the copy layer and then go to image>>adjustments>>desaturate (below is how my image now looks) 4. Next duplicate the 'copy 1' (desaturated layer), i have called mine 'copy 2'.Select the Copy 2 layer and invert the layer, image>>adjustments>>ivert or alternatively 'ctrl+i' 5. Select the 'copy 2' layer in the layers palette and using the drop down 'blending mode' list choose color dodge. Here is what the image now looks like, (it will be mostly white): 6. Finally select the 'copy2' layer and go to 'filter>>blur>>gaussian blur', a radius of between 1 - 9 worked best, toy with the radius interger to see which works best for you. 7. An effective image has now been created.
