I was going to start this piece with "if you're having problems managing your digital pictures, then you should check out Adobe Photoshop Album." But instead, we'll try this on for size: if you just have a digital camera, or happen to be interested in seeing how well a consumer software application can handle multifaceted categorization and metadata management, then you must check Adobe Photoshop Album.

Make sure if you apply blurring to the shadow that you don't use too much. A good amount would be Gaussian Blur = 1 to 1.5 pixels maximum. Or better yet, just apply the 'Blur More' command. And turn down the shadow's Opacity too; I used 40-50% opacity. This will make it appear that there's a lot of ambient light in the room. I won't go into any further details for this part here, because if you're NOT familiar with this tool, then it'll give you a chance to learn more about how to use it. And also, because learning to use this tool is not the objective of this tutorial. But don't worry, it's not as scary as it looks. Just play around with it a little. And read the HELP! files to learn what each of the Pen tools is for.

Now we need to delete part of the paper clip to get the right effect. First duplicate the paper clip layer, we are doing this in case the original is damaged. Duplicate the paper clip layer by right clicking on the layer and click Duplicate Layer as shown in the image below.

11. Next in order to transform the 'notes' we need to merge the design layer (Layer 4) with the note layer. So with your design layer selected in the layers palette hit Ctrl+E to merge it down. Now this is what your layers palette should look like.

You will need to get rid of the line that's off the paper. Click the Rectangular Marquee Tool and click subtract from selection . Your paper should look something like this

Note: For users of version 6/7, download the .pat (Pattern file) here. Then instead of the 'Color Paper' Pattern Overlay preset selection indicated below, choose 'Load Patterns...' from the list.

Now duplicate your background layer, then control click your duplicated layer and press "ctrl + c" to copy. Close this window and go back to your suicide not document. Your paper should still be selected so go straight to the top a goto "edit > paste into".

In this first episode of Tutorial Workshop I will teach you how to create a sticky note type thing and a shiny circle that can be used as a logo background, all in Photoshop.

Sometimes you play around in Photoshop, make something neat, and then can't remember how you did it. What was that filter again? And which setting? Or maybe you're sending a file to someone and need to explain something; What you need is the often overlooked Note Tool.

3. At this point you may be wondering the purpose of creating file information. Besides general reference purposes, File Information is used when creating a Web Photo Gallery. Photoshop uses File Information through its automated tools in order to display information about a file in the web gallery. For example, take a look at the final result from a gallery created in the Web Photo Gallery tutorial at http://www.depiction.net/tutorials/photoshop/gallery2/index.html. You will notice that the file info is non-existant. This is because no file information was given.

Using Photoshop CS, here is a simple tutorial on how to create a note paper effect. Note: For users of version 6/7, download the .pat (Pattern file) here. Then instead of the 'Color Paper' Pattern Overlay preset selection indicated below, choose 'Load Patterns...' from the list. Start a new document of your preset choice. (I used 500x500) Create a new Layer. Select the 'Rectangle Tool (U)' from the toolbar. with 'Shape Layers' option bar active . Click and drag to draw your note paper shape. (I used a foreground color of #999494, but this will change later)

Title: Create classic note or content box Description: Through this step-by-step tutorial I will try to create a classic note or content box sample

Create a new layer, LayerNew Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). And fill the selection using the Paint Bucket a white color. This layer has to be on top on the book cover layers.

Now let's add the drop shadow. Double-click the right side of the sticky note layer in the layers pallete and click Drop Shadow. Use these settings:

Now before we start this tutorial you are going to need a few things, Concrete texture, Picture of a knife, Grunge brushes, Blood brushes, Coffee stains brushes.

2. Create new layer and name it as "sticky note". Select the Rectangular tool and set the foreground to yellow like #fcf185 and drag in the workspace while holding the Shift key in your keyboard to constrain a proportion. Then press ALT+Backspace to fill it. Do not deselect yet.

A content-heavy site on the other hand is a different kettle of fish. As a general rule the more content and information on a page the more understated your design needs to be. The reason for this is that with a lot of content on a page, a full-on design will just get in the way and confuse the viewer. It's hard to digest a lot of information at once, and adding a very heavy design to the mix and you risk overwhelming people.

This tutorial uses a nifty looking wood texture as the background area to represent a desk. Click here to create the same wood texture.
