In this quick Photoshop tutorial we'll be designing our own sweet, golden ribbon! This is a basic tutorial, however I won't exactly be detailing all the tools, etc. in-depth so much, so this might be suitable for new Photoshop users.
In this Photoshop tutorial I'm going to be teaching you how to design a somewhat realistic (sort of cartoon-themed) ribbon in Photoshop! I'm sure if you read this tutorial carefully, even the beginners will be able to understand and follow through until the end result.
Note: I gave the ribbon also a drop shadow, but I think you can figure that out yourself, now and I made a background with #3d3d3d, always do this on a new layer
Lets begin by creating our self a nice background/environment to place our Ribbon and details. The Color used for the background is #83b70b and Gradient Layer Style you can see below along with the small preview.
Have you ever tried finding a golden ribbon inside of a chocolate bar wrapping to no avail? Well that's obviously because there are none in them! Just joking, but seriously, who needs real ribbons when we can make our own?
This tutorial will teach you the basics of making a professional ribbon logo for your website or company. Certain techniques improve your text and shape interaction. 1.) Open up a New Document. I have made mine 500 x 500PX, nice size of canvas again, and whip out the Text tool. Next, choose a tech font of any kind and set it to a fairly decent size like 60PX

A simple ribbon banner will consist of 5 elements. I have created this very quickly with the pen tool. This is very simple to reproduce just remember to create a new path layer in the path window. I have highlighted the points so it is easier to reproduce it. Remember ctrl + h will show / hide your path.
Well, it looks pretty cool, though it could be brightened a bit. I did this by using the Auto Contrast option (Alt + Shift + Ctrl + L), or located in the menu by Image > Adjust > Auto Contrast.
