Go to Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap and then Filter > Distort > Ripple and set Amount=999. Now it starts looking great, but we are still not finish. Go to Filter > Distort > Glass and keep the standart settings. As the last step, go to Filter > Render > Lightning Effects and set theese settings:

Use the type tool to create a new text. and apply the following layer styles: DropShadow: Inner Shadow and 1 pixel stroke. you can play around with these.

8. And there you go, I hope you like this rust tutorial and hopefully it looks realistic. It's not the best one around but it does the job and it's a very easy tutorial to follow with only a few steps!

1. Create a new file. Create a new layer. Draw the Elliptical button and fill it with the color shown in the figure.

7. Just add whatever effects you want, I just embossed mine a little , you may want to lighten it up a bit and your done, you have your lovely dark and dirty rust.

At this point, think about why you want the effect, and where you're going to apply it. You may decide to rust up a part of an interface or maybe just add some rusted text.

(we have selected 7 row 2nd col) as a foreground color. 3. Press Alt + Delete to fill foreground color.
