Works of art evoke our admiration for the talented artists. However, we usually see only the result, not the process of creating. In this tutorial we will try to catch a glimpse into the work of an artist. The author of the tutorial, Heike Nocher, reproduces the process of drawing a flower. Using AKVIS Sketch you can repeat the steps and create you own piece of art.
So just remember that you have plenty of options to work with when you have a layer on it's own. You can filter it, transform it, adjust it, paint it, erase it, liquify it, cut it, etc. Try this out: lower the opacity of the flipped horizontal layer. This creates a nice reflection effect like she's standing against a mirror. It's important that you get very comfortable working with layers and all of the possibilities available if you really want to become a Photoshop Designer. My Basic Training will ensure your success.
I couldn't use the transform option because my layer was locked - maybe this will help you (I am a beginner -> maybe I am wrong, but this helped me when I couldn't use the Transform option >someone please correct me if wrong)
In this tutorial we are going to change the mood of a photo. I have taken this photo of a building from imageafter and changed it from a nice clear day to dark and creepy. This tutorial shows that with a few techniques you can drastically change the look of a photo and have it fit any project you need. Enjoy!
Photoshop offers us a couple of "step-and-repeat options for working with transformations. We can either perform the exact same transformation again using the appropriately-named Transform Again command, or we can perform the same transformation while making a copy of whatever it is we're transforming, which is very useful for creating different designs with shapes.
To fix that, simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+0 (Win) / Command+0 (Mac) to change the view to Fit on Screen. This will cause Photoshop to zoom out far enough so that the full width and height of the image is now fitting on the screen, and you'll be able to see the Free Transform handles:
Once you load your photo, duplicate the background layer once, and change the blending option of the duplicated layer to "overlay". The way it add a bit more colour contrast to the photo and we will be able to play with this layer further in this tutorial.
5. The final touch to the image, go to 'Filter -> Texture -> Texturizer' and put the values you like. In this tutorial I will use 'Canvas' texture, 50% of 'Scale' and 'Top Right Light'. Next image shows the result.
This time will introduce a tutorial about transforming a photo into watercolor painting style. One more special effect you can learn to change your personal photo like a paint. Photoshop functions such as Image, Filter & Blending options will be mainly involved. You can now have more practice with these functions. Very nice!
Taking a picture of a scene is the easy bit, getting the asthetics correct can require a bit more consideration. One of these considerations could be what colours you have in the photo and what eff???

The magic happens when we turn the layer’s blending mode from Normal to Soft Light. But that’s not good enough. Make a rectangular marquee in the middle of the image. Then hit Ctrl + J to paste it in a new layer (make sure that you are on the rain layer before doing so). Then, hit Ctrl + T to activate the transform controls.
