There is one more adjustment we want to make to the head. A NURBS object will always have a seam. The location of this seam can be significant in more complex models, and even in this simple head we will need to move the seam so later the mouth texture will be easier to place. If you look at the head in wire frame mode while it is selected you will notice that one isoparm is slightly thicker than the rest. (Fig. 3A) Right now it is on the side of the head. We want it out of the way in the back of the head. In order to move the seam, select the isoparm at the back of the head (it will turn to a solid yellow line) and >edit NURBS>detach surfaces. This will relocate the seam to the back of the head.
