Now select the Selection Tool (shortcut V). Click on a circle to select it. Move the mouse to the centre of the circle and you will see the icon changes, losing the tail to the arrow. This means you can move the shape. Click hold and move the shape. Releasing drops the shape where you want to put it. |

Give the rectangle a linear gradient fill, going from white to black at an angle of 0°. Now select both the drop shape and the rectangle. Go to the Transparency palette and select Make Opacity Mask from the palette's drop-down menu as shown in the image above. You should see the drop shape filled with a gradient as shown in the image below.

We will be creating this design inside Adobe Illustrator. While this design can be made inside Photoshop, it?s much easier to layout in Illustrator and you will end up with a more versatile master file in case you need to recreate the design for multiple purposes.

Here's another way of doing it. Go to Edit > Undo to go back to our previous step. Using the Selection Tool (the black arrow) click on the shape to select it. Now go to Object > Expand Appearance. You should see the following:
