The world is full of contours. If you look at any maps and see those lines that demote elevation, you are looking at contour lines. Read this article to learn how to create contour lines using SketchUp.

Edit Steps

    Click on the Add Imagery icon. Go to wherever you want to get your contours from in the screen that comes up.

    Draw a rectangle that is the size of the contours that you are creating.

    Click on the Move tool and holding down CTRL and make a copy and make sure it is directly above the previous layer. Type in the number that you want for contour lines. Depending on how big an area it is, you will want to adjust the measurement. A small area, use 10', a large area, you might want to go with 50' or 100'.

    Type on a number with x for how many times you want it repeated.
