How to Delete in OpenOffice Writer

There are some ways to delete things in Writer that are pretty easy (and some are transferable to other programs). Read on.

Edit Steps

  1. 1
    To delete a word, select the word (double click) and then press the delete key. The word that you selected will be deleted.
  2. 2
    To delete a single paragraph, Highlight the paragraph by triple clicking inside the paragraph. Then press the Delete key to delete the paragraph. shown after the "Undo: Delete".)
  3. 3
    To delete multiple paragraphs, select the paragraphs that you want to delete, and then press the Delete key.
  4. 4
    To Delete Graphic(s), Click on the image. (The green handles will appear.)
  5. 5
    Press the Delete key. (The graphic is no longer on your document.)
