Vases are a neat addition to a scene you may be creating and you can also use the process that you make the vase with on other things. This article will show you how to make a vase with Paint.Net

    Open Paint.Net and start a new project. To start with, you will probably want it taller than wide. This article will use the size of 600 X 800.

    Create a texture or fill the canvas with a texture. This example will be using a mottled sky look.

    Get the color you want. This was done using the Color Balance under Adjustments.

    Create the cylinder with the Shape3D plugin. Make sure that you adjust the Axis 1 a bit and also deselect the tick mark on 'All Face'.
    • The Shape3D plugin is under Effects >> Render.

    Click on Effects >> Distort >> Point Warp. Do the one side (you will want to adjust the effects for your purpose). Flip the layer (Layers >> Flip Horizontal) and apply the effect again (CTRL F).

    Squash, or elongate, the vase by clicking on the selection icon and then adjust with the move icon.

Edit Tips

  • Depending on the height of your vase, the look will change dramatically.
  • If you don't have a plugin mentioned, use your favorite search engine and search for the name and paint.net.
    • Shape3D paint.net (for example)
