70.57.0.76 said:

this article is correct but there is a much simpler way then spending hours finding a page that isn't blocked to use go to the internet browser and type in http://12.47.45.122 it is the IP address for stupidcensorship.com once you are there just type in the website you want to go to also don't be stupid clear your internet history after you do this

i found the most helpful of all comments was digg.com. I got away with two working proxies thus far and the list continues. But I agree with another fellow commenter...if it doesn't work for you, you may as well just copy a proxy list into your email, if your school blocks email just copy it into a text file and call it a day.

FTM, http://www.zend2.com is a proxy that works to get around the Websense filters I have to deal with. It may or may not work for your particular situation, and it may or may not keep working. All I can say is "try it", and if it works for you, bully!

your wrong.. they have ways to block secure HTTPS sites. i get page cannot be displayed everytime i try to get to sites using HTTPS..

203.167.97.51 said:

so the solution is not to get a good working proxy but to find a way to get the browser to access secure sites. once we achieve that we can easily access proxies having HTTPS..

anyone can tell us how to that?? pleeeeze!

quick question if any 1 has thought about this --- entering ur school/work's modem IP address (which is found on back of modem/network modems) should bring up the settings/restrictions for the modem? true? if so, then it may have a backdoor to toggling websense? im no expert but worth a shot? my work recently got hold of my antics and blocked everything. i have found with websense it also has session limits. so be aware of this if browsing for a while, cos when it did work it has previously cut me off for 12 hours. cheers

i hate websense i'm in fucken summer school an i cant do any thing on the computer Websense degrades computers fun

ha ha, that would suck 2 more days of school then i'm GONE!!! so get a website that will work, u have 2 months before i need it!!!!!!!!!!!!

203.167.97.51 said:
find a way to access the secure sites (HTTPS) and you will be able to access website proxies like https://server9.kproxy.com and similar proxies that are using https..

194.66.11.43 said:
no point adding all these site names and crap, schools/colleges etc use these pages to find webpages and block em, and more often than not, things like websense and other blockers use keywords to block webpages, you're best off going home, finding a proxybuilder and creating your own, and DON'T tell anyone about it or how you did it, cos in every class there is that annoying guy who tells teachers everything. Chances are the plan won't work, but its worth a shot, so don't bitch about it if it doesnt work.

203.167.97.51 said:
you guys dont get it.. yes, websense blocks almost every site. but websense cannot block an HTTPS site! now you complain you cannot access HTTPS even if you did, well the fact is ITS NOT WEBSENSE thats keeping you from accessing HTTPS sites. its a different setting on the PC that restricts it. the solution is find a way to change the setting on the browser to access HTTPS, and when you do you can now get proxies using HTTPS without being blocked by websense.....

LOL..

Keep trying. Websense OWNS.

The best part about Websense is that if you should somehow figure out how to bypass it, your method may work today, it might even work tomorrow, but Websense WILL catch up to you in short time. Websense has a central database that gets updated many times a day as new exploits are discovered.

Websense analyzes traffic before it traverses to the public Internet. If it doesn't like something you're doing, it simply resets the TCP connection with the server and sends you the message that the site violates the AUP set forth by the admin.

TOR may work for a while, but it's days are numbered and can be easily made to not work by savvy Websense admins. You might as well give up on Proxy sites. I laugh when I look at my report that I can generate that tells me all of the violations in the "Proxy Avoidance" category.

What's even more stunning is the amount of effort put forth by people on the network trying to bypass a simple web filter. I mean some of these people put in the better part of their shift trying to find a proxy or method that will allow them to check their MySpace or view a YouTube video.

Either way, good luck and keep trying.

68.59.36.38 said:
websense is manually controlled, most of the time, school districts will record internet activity anyway, so you can delete history all you want, they still have records on what youve looked at... and they manually input which category, and or particular sites they want to block. there is no way around websense other than to find a proxy which is unblocked at your school. you will be searching a LONG LONG time, and it is NOT WORTH IT. even if you do find a proxy, they can still record all the things you type..... email logins, passwords.... EVERYTHING... dont be stupid and login to anything you dont want people to know about at school.

Send me a PM (markATusflowerhausDOTcom) for a howto.

82.45.35.16 said:

You CANNOT get around websense, simple as. It has a database of every url in the world that gets updated everyday, and it sniffs packets at pre-gateway level. If it finds an unrecognised url, it sends the data to websense HQ where a human checks out the site, and promptly categorises it. That category is then updated to the database, and et voila, one blocked page.

The only way that you might get around it is if the network has more than one gateway that is not got the agent running on it. The other way is to set up remote desktop to your home pc, connect over to it and browse the web from your home pc viewing it on the locked down network

Just find a new proxy everytime they block one. There are so many of them out there, you should have no time finding a replacement.

63.166.226.83 said:

It's really not so difficult, you just have to be willing to do a little work:

Get a bit of web space which you can get access to. There are free resources available. I'm not naming names so as not to cause these sites to be blocked en masse. If you can't find free space which works, you can get a domain name for like $2/yr (.info) through GoDaddy and Websense will not know where this domain points to.

DO NOT PUT "proxy" or ANYTHING SIMILAR in the URL.

Do not put anything on the site except one PHP or CGI script with an innocuous name like "p.cgi"

This script should accept an encrypted and base64 encoded packet via POST, then issue that request and transmit the response back encrypted and encoded in the same manner.

Then, at your work or school, you install a program or script (and its runtime) which acts as a proxy, issuing the encrypted request and decrypting responses.

Now go into IE or Firefox or whatever your browser is, point your browser to localhost:whateverportyouchose and point the local proxy to your company/school's proxy.

This creates a bridge of totally anonymous encrypted data to a site with no reference to proxies or other such.

I'm currently writing a pair of Python scripts which do just this. I'll post the scripts when I get around to it.

Note: since all that data you are transferring will be in your OWN encryption (not SSL), there is absolutely no risk of Websense being able to grok what you're transmitting.

Thus, you are secure and have total deniability, just wipe apache logs on your server and wipe your own system logs, and websense has nothing to go on.

Obviously, you're going to want to pre-share the encryption key and make it a good one, like 4096-bit blowfish.

Again, I'll post when I've finished said scripts, if I remember to. Or if you are also a developer and just didn't think of this, feel free to share your take on it =) -k8e

websense is stupid

ok i did this in my school and it worked. there are two ways to completely bypass the security system from your school, work, etc. go to my computer and look for network drives down towards the bottom. if there are network drives then this should work. if there aren't then stop reading now because it'll be useless for you. when you find them you can either look through every directory and file to find the security updates(hard but will last longer), or you can just right click on the drive and go to disconnect and you'll be able to access any site you would from a normal computer. BE CAREFUL! do not get caught. i am not responsible for anything you do. im working from school right now and im trying to find another way around the security system because they upgraded it after i had disabled it for 2 weeks rofl. if you have any questions or need help then email me [email protected]. i also have a roommate that is one of the best psp hackers i know so if you guys want help with that too then i gotcha covered. your welcome ppl :)

I just LOVE watching you all put so much effort into trying to bypass Websense. Imagine how smart you would all be if you used your time productively and actually attempted to learn something at school instead of playing games or messing around on Myspace. Just an FYI about Websense...they have what's called a "Real Time Monitor" which watches your every move as it's happening. You might be able to find a working proxy and bypass Websense but your fun won't last. Eventually, the network admins will figure it out and block that too. Happy surfing!

Find a proxy or circumvention site. Sites such as https://www.bypassr.com offer a way to bypass Websense by, for example, using a secure connection (note that the url begins with "https," not "http"). You can access the circumventor or proxy site, and then access blocked sites through that. Type the url you want to go to in the box on the site. Once you access the proxy site, enter the address of the site you want to go to in the box on the screen. Turn your home computer into a circumventor. Since proxy sites are constantly being blocked, you may want to create your own.

Install a circumventor program. At Peacefire.org you can download a circumventor program on your home computer so that you can access blocked sites at other locations by connecting to your home computer. Download a couple programs, and run the setup, and the program will give you a url you can use to access it from anywhere. Write down this url and carry it with you. Note: you don't download the programs onto the computer with the filter--you download them onto another computer that you can connect to from the filtered computer. Enter the url for your home computer in the web browser on the filtered computer. When you're at a computer with a filtered connection (at work or at the library, for instance), simply enter the circumventor program gave you, and you will be able to access blocked sites via your home computer. Note that this will only work if your home computer is on and connected to the internet.

Wow, it seems that all of us here want to bypass websense...

there are lots of ways how to bypass websense and there are lots of ways how to block ur proxies.

Most of the Proxy web site has a Meta Tag with word PROXY. WebSense has a DB to collect all the URL that needs to be block according to there filter, even if you use the IP address but the web page has a Meta Tag name Proxy it will still block same as Web Messenger

Solution: To be continued...

ok. everyone here that gives a website that has the word proxy in it will get it blocked anyways. Websense's database picks up anything with the word proxy in it and autonatically blocks it. Try to find a way to get to a proxy blocker but with the url having a name with: hidden, invisible, proxyblocker, proxy, or bypass. If it has those words in it, it will get picked up. i will try to make a site later to try to get passed websense.

Haha,

I think it's funny how all you people just try to get around a web filter using websites. The admin will look up every site in the log and test it, if he's any good. Also, he can look at the top 30 sites and go from there.

If I were you, and I'm in that situation at work right now, I'd set up a VPN at home (or somewhere you know there is a computer with complete access to the Internet) and VPN into your home computer and surf from there.

My buddy is stuck in Saudi Arabia and he cannot surf most of the sites out there so he set up a VPN at home, logs in, and can surf every site available to him from his home (which is the whole Internet). I'm in the process of doing the same.

Ok. . . I'll give ya'll a little hand. Where I am they use websene too. . . and it is indeed a bitch to get around. But not impossible.

Follow these instructions and you have a chance to bypassing websene.

1) Open up Notepad and Paint

2) Go to Start -> Run

3) type ping blah.com (replace with the url that you are trying to get to [don't include the www part or extentions of the url])

4) A window will pop up, then Printscreen

5) Open Paint and press Ctrl+V

6) Open Notepad and type the IP into notepad, highlight it and press Ctrl+C

7) Open IE or whatever web browser you use and type: http://(Press Ctrl+V to paste the IP)

8) Hit enter. If this works then great, you go to the main page of the website. . . then all you need to do is to know the extension. . .so for example: http://(IP)/games

Take note though. . . that you wont be able to get to ALL pages this way. By accessing a webpage by using its IP you ignore its meta tags, however. . . if they have blocked the IP too, then you cant gain access to the page.

P.S: The URL that was given in the post above this works well. . . I have tried and tested it

alright, for some websense users, depending on how much your faculty has already covered with bypassing schemes, when youre logged into your account, go to internet browser, rapidly click between favorites and whatever shortcut is located to the left. repeat this for about 10 seconds or once your browser freezes, then type in the url and it will bypass 9 out of 10 times. if you dont type in the url in less than about 30 seconds the browser catches up and you have to do it again, good luck

ok. The easiest way to do this is just to put portable firefox onto a usb stick at home and run that at school, and when your on that you can go on most the proxy sites, and most of the desired sites without proxy avoidance. And also at our school sometimes the backround doesnt come up on your desktop and it shows an error message. Near the bottom there is an IP address. Put that into the normal browser and it will be the main page for the websense program. You cant then enter the page and open up some ports so it allows access to certain sites. but be careful if you get caught you kinda get screwed. I think you can also find the IP on the router. You should stop trying to use proxies aswell because they will just keep getting blocked!

because they're watching me. they're watching you. this is the most visited website in the world that has the words "BYPASS WEBSENSE" in it.

guess what?

the people who get paid to work for websense can come on this forum, pick up on your "proxy avoidance" sites, block it, and get praise for doing something so simple. that's what i would do. Hell, one person could run websense all on his own with what you idiots are giving away.

see, the thing about my proxy website is... it doesn't have any words on it, especially the word proxy, it doesn't look suspicious in any way, even the URL doesn't have a word in it, and it is known only by my closest friends, and myself.

so what i suggest you do as a fellow proxifier, (oldies proxy site joke) is find a proxy that works, use it all the time... and don't fucking post it on the most famous site on the internet about proxies... don't brag to your tech teacher how smart you are cuz you know how to get on myspace. (like an idiot at my school did) and you will be all right proxy-wise for the rest of your life.

happy surfing.

My name is Daimian. I work at a college in Suffolk. I am the IT manager there, just to let you know, if you are trying to get round websense it practically impossable. When you go onto a website, the computer you are on, goes to the main server, which is where the proxy server is. If websense allows the site, you can continue, if not ur stuck. Websense looks at every address thats is recorded and goes through the proxy server. Hence blocked sites. There are two ways that you can bypass this at the moment.

1.) One is the simple solution. Open Internet explorer and go tools ---> options. then go to the connections tab. If the connections tab is not there, this is not an option now. So go to 2). If it is there, simply take off the proxy settings.

2.) Use another program (Firefox) at the moment the craze is to use firefox portable. There is no way to stop users changing the proxy tabs in firefox.

Well good luck

A better bet would be to run a portscan of your entire network and find any servers with open HTTP proxy ports (8080). Then just use those IPs in your proxy tabs instead.

Of course, you're liable to get caught when a network admin sees hundreds of pings flooding the network from your machine but TBH, most IT admins aren't paid enough to care about things like that. Especially if you're only in highschool

1) If you ever find a proxy that works don’t tell anyone! And NEVER EVER post that site on the internet because websense also has staffs that searches the internet for sites like this one, and block all websites mentioned. 2) Never fear for I am here, I’m working on a virus that will bring websence to its knees, like you I once was in school trying to get onto that one website that’s blocked. But now I have the skills to do this I am! I have around 10 hackers working with me on, like you were pissed off with websence and will bring it down!!

First off, any and all proxy sites will only work for a limited period of time until either a WebSense employee or a the school admin notices everyone going there. If you find one that works, keep it to yourself and enjoy it while it lasts.

Secondly, to everyone that said that there was no way to get around WebSense, you're entirely wrong. You just don't have the computer knowledge to do so. One effective way (although a much more complicated one) is to run an SSH server off of your home PC, and use an SSH client that can act as a SOCKS host on the school/work computer, and then connect via SSH on either port 80 or 443 (443 works best, as it's already encrypted data) to your home PC, and then configure IE or FireFox to run from a SOCKS host 127.0.0.1 on port 8080. Stop saying it's impossible to get around it. It's only impossible for all you kids out there who think the only way to do it is to take down WebSense or use a silly proxy site.

Ah, its great to see so many people attempt to get around Websense. Look i am an administrator at the company i work for and we have a Websense policy. Yes, Websense sends us daily updates on new sites they are able to block. Also there is a way for us to add sites that we want to block as well before Websense sends us anything. We can also run reports to see what you were trying to do when the program blocked you. Plus two inaccuracies i would like to clear up for everyone in here:

1) Yes websense can block HTTPS...i have done it several times lately. 2) And though you can use remote desktop, Websense does have the capability to limit or totally block you from using it.

And as for the USB thing my company and I am sure countless others, have the ability to restrict the launch of an application from your computer. And yes that includes FireFox or any other web browser from your flash drive. We have tested it and can block it, though not with Websense, but other tools that i am sure many companies and schools have.

Hey, everybody! I just downloaded and fired up UltraSurf here at an electronics store on a public computer censored by Websense. It not only allows me to surf any site, it also speeds up my connection on some sites. I didn't even use a memory stick, I just downloaded the program at home, renamed the .exe extension to .bak so I could GMail it to myself. Downloaded it from my GMail at the store, renamed the extension, started it up, and it works great. No configuring or anything. Sometimes a site doesn't come up. In that case just type it in their Chinese Google home page, and click on the results link. That always works.

A fantastic program! You gotta try it. It works fantastic to bypass Websense.

Hello Gentlemen, I am not so bold as to post my on Identification on a site like this as the hawks from websense are watching, however, even though an IP will show up in this forum it won't be mine. :) so you want to bypass the worst web filter of all time??? Well I would like to suggest the few ways that have worked for me and continue to work for me. proxy sites have a very short life thanks to our friends at websense. They have a full time job making their product the best. So what do we do??? Well join a forum that they cannot... like what you say? Well make an google account and go to google groups and type in daily ip there are fresh proxy sites listed here daily and this site isn't blocked by our big brother websense. second you can through one of these sites or from home access the web for a list of fresh prosy IPs these will eventually be discovered and blasted but enjoy them while you can and when they die get some more. these Ip (make sure the ones you get have the port as well) can be used to allow your chat programs to work again and if properly entered into the advanced network settings of your browser can completely unleash it for the life of the proxy. For streaming music go to google translator and type in the url of your streaming music site and enjoy... and how do I know all this.... because someone ticked me off and that someone was.... The best and the worst web filter on the earth.... WEBSENSE. the unknown jerk

Uhmm, The ammount of people here who have hardly any computer knowledge is amazing. Websense is so easy to bypass if you know how, Its simple... Yes Mr. Sys Admin you dont want me on any of your computers, You people who manage websense think your so smart, Well your not.

Websense works like this

1) Your Browser ( Configured Internet Settings ) 2) Configured Internet Settings sets internet through another computer that has configured websense to be used. 3) Websense checks against database and meta tags and domain name also keywords ( this all depends on the settings ) 4) The HTTP request has been logged, time date, etc..

Theres loads of solutions to get past it, Im only going to tell you a few because this page is being monitored for sure.

"Uncategorized" Websites that are blocked

Ok to get past these you do this example.

http://www.example.com/index.html - Blocked "Uncategorized"

Change it to

http://www.example.com/index.html? - Works, But no images

"Blocked" - Websites that come up as blocked

Websites that come up as "Blocked" you can bypass by using the direct IP for that website ( hope its not a shared server )

This works for me on YouTube.

There is hunrads of other ways that i am not going to go into detail because i've googled my own private methods and there are no results for it so i guess my own prviate ways of bypassing this totally will remain a secret to myself.

These "Web Proxys" fail mainly because its always got "Proxy" in the content, So it gets blocked etc...

Also i think websense may have got smart to the SourceCode used for common "Web Proxys" and it now auto blocks them.

Does anyone know if you happen to find a proxy that works, does websense record what you are looking at on the proxy website or what?

Websense is so easy to bypass. Just download gtunnel and install it on your machine. After that you can access any website like I am now

Another alternative to gtunnel is a freeware called Torpark; Google it. It opens an encrypted tunnel to their own servers, which access the web anonymously and blocker-free. It runs off a USB drive, with portable Firefox. Websense blocks this site, but I'm using Torpark and I can see it fine.

of coz all proxy don't work, filter pick this website fast because too many people accesing this website and filter will notice that. (too many request obviusly and bandwidth suddenly skyrocket?? 5 year old will notice that) to be honest proxy website only last 2-3 days :P

All you need to do is make your own proxy website and dont tell anyone about it. That way your proxy website can last longer or you can signup to any proxy newsletter to receive daily proxy list. Filter will still block it but you get daily list everday :D Anyway you can always try this one: http://www.mathisfun.co.cc

- I think by the time you try this it already block :P so be quick to join the newsletter for fresh proxy not advertise anywhere :)

goodluck anyway

Guys, there's an easier way... Its not hard but may take a while. Websense filters via keywords or meta data, but then again if meta data is blank then it blocks it anyway!

So.. just make a website and fill it with games. or anything. (This isn't a proxy solution!) Then in the meta data, put site name and stuff but add in school keywords or something related to where you are (Work, School etc.) School websense won't block a website with the words school, math, games*, english? Will it?

  • I added this in for proper results. If there is 8/10 school related words they won't block it. But it is important that you add in some related words for google search results.

Also... for a example of this try - www.coolmathgames.com, It sucks but with that technique you can get some amazing results :D.

Make it extra secure and add a SSL Certificate... (https) for even better results!
