Edit Steps
- 1Review how to Patrol Recent Changes on wikiHow.
- 2Bookmark important pages, such as wikiHow:Policy and Category:Templates.
- Create MyLinks if you plan to patrol frequently.
- 3Follow the golden rules:
- Assume good faith. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
- Skip edits if you're uncertain in any way.
- Begin slowly, patrol safely, then pick up speed.
- 4Ask to follow several seasoned patrollers.
- Ask questions. Learn why each edit is corrected, undone or rolled back.
- Learn how to tag articles and user's Talk pages.
- Voice your opinion, if you don't agree, to gain a better understanding.
- 5Patrol one area at a time.
- Click on Recent Changes in the column to the right.
- Click on Hide Patrolled Edits at the top of the page.
- Select from the dropdown menu and click on GO.
- User and Talk pages are easier than Discussion pages.
- Article pages are more involved.
- 6Understand titles:
- Article pages do not have a prefix preceding a title.
- Discussion: followed by a title is the Discussion page of an article.
- Request: followed by a title is a page requesting a topic.
- User_Page: followed by a username is a page that identifies an editor.
- User_Talk: followed by a username is a page used to communicate issues related to wikiHow.

- Try Bunch Patrol once you are more experienced.
