Do you want to get more games and fun stuff on your iPod Touch or iPhone? This article will teach you how to download and use applications from the Applications Store on an iPod Touch or iPhone.
Edit Steps
- 1Find your iPod Touch, IPhone or iPad.
- 2Press the lock button at the top of the device. This will either turn your device on, or bring you directly to the lock screen.
- 3Slide your finger at the bottom of the screen where it says "slide to unlock."
- 4Unlock your device if you have a pass code, and then you should be at the home screen of your iPod or iPhone. If you do not have a pass code, you will be taken directly to the home screen and therefore do not need to perform this step.
- 5Make sure you are connected to the internet. To do this, click the "Settings" icon, then click the tab that says "Wi-Fi". If you are using an iPhone and are in the range of a cell tower, you should not need to have Wi-Fi turned on.
- 6Tap the icon that says "App Store" once you are sure you have internet connection.
- 7Find the Application that you want to download. There are many ways to do this. If you look at the bottom of the screen, there are five tabs. You can search for the Application, look in the top 25 free or paid applications, or look in the featured tab.
- 8Click the green button that either says "free" or has a price next to it. This same button will then say "install". Tap it.
- 9Enter your username and password for your iTunes account. If you do not have one, you will need to create one.
- 10Wait for the application to be installed. You will be taken back to your home screen and your download should start immediately. You will be able to see the progress. Be patient. If this is a large file, it could take a while to download, especially if you are using the 1st generation iPhone with Edge.
- 11Tap the icon and open your new application after your download is complete. If you decide you do not like it you can always delete it.
