I haven't really pull off this idea yet, so it is very preliminary. On wikia skin, content space only have a width of 600px or so. It works fine until we insert a traditional infobox. Then we only have 400px or so to write our article. I don't think such design is so good-looking, at least I fail to see such design elsewhere.
What if we change the design of the infobox, and lay it down horizontally? Does it look better that way?
An Example from the infamous Chinese Baidu Baike. The content space is almost identicle to Wikia, but the design looks more compact.

Hello, KillFeedz OG here! I just wanna get the word out that my new Wiki: Call of Duty HeadQuarters Wiki, is now up and running! I am a current Administrator there, and it's mainly focuses on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Zombies. All information redirects from the official Call of Duty Wiki, just for you know. But the Wiki itself focuses on general info on all of the games listed above; like campaign missions, multiplayer maps, weapons, characters, perks, equipment and information related to that. In short, it gives brief and general information redirected from the official CoD Wiki, based on all the modern CoD's. Though, I …

Hey all! A few months ago (when Wikia's new mobile skin came out), I showed you how to insert code onto any page using verbatim tags. Well, now I'm going to show you a way I discovered to add your code to every page! And it's amazingly easy, too!
] Basically, my goal was to find a MediaWiki page that shows up every time on WikiaMobile. And I found one, MediaWiki:Wikiamobile-page-header-title. Basically, this page contains nothing but a variable ("
$1
"), which appears to be the page title. And this message can correctly transclude verbatim tags without any issues. Check out the button I added to my test wiki's toolbar (right). That will show up on every page! So, basically, the code is:
since extra line breaks are really easy to accidentally a… Read more > -
When a holiday comes along eg. Christmas,Valentines Day and Halloween. Its often a good idea to modify the theme to fit the holiday, by recolouring your page background colour and toolbar colour or by modifying your wordmark to contain images related to the holiday(its best to get these off websites like the Wikimedia Commons to prevent copyright issues).
Note:In the examples the wikis are being changed for Valentines Day as that is the closest holiday

- 4 Help
Making your wordmark suit the holiday can be very simple and can be done without advanced image editing skills you can do this by:
- Changing the font colour to any shade of colours suited to the holiday.
- Adding suitable images to the wordmark.
- A t…

Hello Wika there is a problem on Bandipedia and Bandipedia Highlights I need to bring to your attention. We had the topbar customized to look perfect and then it was changed back to the default colours. Can this please be changed? If not on all wiki's then on Bandipedia and Bandipedia Highlights. Me and other admins on Bandipedia are concerned about this. Thank you for your time.

Well, Achievements were started as a way to get users involved, and to help them make more edits and help the wiki. Well, this just doesn't quite work out all the time. It works great on some wikis, but not others. For starters, numbers just climb and climb until there's almost no hope for new users to even get close to the leaderboard. That, and it's an invitation to spam edits/categories, and there's no way for admins to control the badges to prevent this kind of cheating.
That, and it works on the "feel good" theme, and for some, the "ends justify the means" theme. It's one thing to feel good about something, but thinking it actually does something in the long run is another. And no, ends (X-thousand points or so) do not justify the means (…

Today i noticed that there was a new Wikia wide message about 'how others may see me'.
Interested by this, i clicked the button and went through the pretty extensive questionnaire.
After i completed it, the result where as expected, rather vague, fit most approach.
But then i looked further. Being given the option to 'save my results'.
And i became suspicious about it right after because it clearly noted an opt out statement.
And what the heck? I had filled in a form for an advertising company which had lured me into giving me a complete profile for them to be able to use to give me 'personalized ads'.
I was like. Erm... Wikia, wtf? Why are you leading us to commercial advertisers and displaying this as 'how others see you'?
Why are you actively …

Here, in this blog post, I will write down some request and questions regarding the wikis. If anyone see this, please help.
I consider using infoboxes for all character-pages on my wiki, but I find them completely out of my wiki's theme colors. I chose a sand-colored/orange/brown-styled wiki, but the infoboxes automatically gets a boring blue and white color, and I would like to know, is it in any way possible to change the colortheme of your infoboxes? :)
I think the original achievements could use some improvements. Personally I find them fun and a very great addition to the wikia community, but they are not good enough yet. I experienced a lot of delays with the numbers (For an example, I have 982 total edits on the wiki right now, but in …
