Have you ever wondered what your lizards tank would look like if it was tropical? Well, look no further, because I am here to tell you how to make a naturalistic tropical vivarium for your critter!
Edit Steps
- 1Fill the bottom of the tank with pebbles. These will act as drainage.
- 2Put terrarium mat over the pebbles. This will filter water.
- 3Cover the mat with the mulch substrate. Leave about a quarter of the tank uncovered.
- 4Put the acrylic sheet over the uncovered area of the tank.
- 5Plant the first plant in the corner.
- 6Put the branches in an arboreal (climbing) position.
- 7Place the log down in width so that it is on an angle.
- 8Place the heating rock under the log.
- 9Place the heating pad near the plant.
- 10Put the hide-away log near the heating pad, and under the plant.
- 11Put the basking light over the shade log.
- 12Place the long light evenly across the enclosure
- 13Fill the acrylic part with water. Replace water every week.
- 14Spray with bottle 2-5 times a day.
Edit Tips
- You can vary the size and dimension of the tank to your liking.
- 10 gallon tanks are only suitable for 2 small, non-aggressive lizards, a few non-aggressive frogs, 1 larger frog or one larger lizard.
