You might think that starting a car is easy, until you approach a 2002-up BMW with the Comfort Access system. Don't worry, it's easy once you first start one up. Here's the instructions on how to do so.
Edit Steps
- 1Unlock your BMW by pressing the top button on the Comfort Access remote control. The car will beep two or three times, depending on the model or type.
- 2Once the door locks click, the car is unlocked. Grasp the driver's door handle and pull it to open the door.
- 3Place the Comfort Access key in the upright position (gray buttons facing up) into the ignition until the dash screen lights and the radio readiness switches on.
- 4With your foot on the brake, depress the Start/Stop button once to start the car.
- 5To stop the car, depress the Start/Stop button once.
- 6Push in on the Comfort Access remote controller and pull out on it to remove it.
- 7Press the lock button (BMW symbol) once to lock the whole car.
Edit Tips
- DO NOT pull directly out on the Comfort Access remote to remove it. This will damage the controller.
- DO NOT hold in the start/stop button, as this will erase key codes, and you will have to have the dealership reset them.
- DO NOT lock the BMW with passengers or yourself locked inside it. They or you will set off the motion sensors, causing the alarm system to go off.
- DO NOT place your hand on the door handles before the door locks click. Then you will have to start the whole process all over once again.
